Turns out the coast isnt the wettest part of California.
Three Golden State cities are among the top ten drunkest in America, according to a survey by Mens Health magazine posted Thursday, with Fresnos 500,000 residents knocking back the most suds.
Reno, Nevada took the runner-up slot and Billings, Montana grabbed the bronze. Riverside and Bakersfield in California were numbers four and ten, respectively.
On the other end of the spectrum, in spite of being a hub for thirsty college students, Boston is the nations least drunk city, the magazine found. Three of Americas teetotaler cities were in the New York metropolitan area, with the city itself receiving an A-.

No Milwaukee? What a steaming pantload...
Good point. Milwaukee’s Best has been known to have that effect, on many people I know...
It ain't from ME slackin' off, boss.
I visited Lubbock back in the 70s and the area was dry. We had to drive about 50 miles to get a 6-pack. I think they voted for beer sales, but not hard liquor a few years ago.
Just damn!
I guess we'll have to visit there more often and raise the numbers.
We were in a place in Arlington visiting the kids and we had to get some kind of liquor passport thingy. Weird.
Is you dry or is you ain’t?
I think New Orleans retired the trophy a long time ago.
Personally, I’d like to congratulate my young friends at UCR, including my own fraternity brothers, for their yeoman effort in making Riverside’s Top Ten finish possible.
For those who have never been, it literally rises out of the middle of nowhere. If you do get offered a job there, make sure that they compensate you well.
Travis[ty] county is wet. You can buy beer here every day, except the - After noon on Sunday - law. No hard liquor can be purchased on Sunday.
I know this is not P.C. but me thinks it correlates to where illegals congregate. Fresno for sure...
Let me testify.
What? No Pittsburgh?
So much for being a football town with a drinking problem.
Don't you mean ...being a drinking town with a football problem?
Pittsburgh is #59 they received a C-. You need to drink more Iron City and Ying Ling if you want to break the top 50.
Miwaukee was #58 and got a "C". Need to reopen Schlitz and start driving with the lights off at night to get back in the top 10.
Nah, I saw an Iron City license plate that said the opposite one day. Maybe the poor guy bought a mistake...but if he’d put down the brew he may have known that!
Maybe it’s because everyone in Pittsburgh is an alcoholic from August until January and goes into recovery for the rest of the year.
I am highly disappointed.
Actually, they've started making Schlitz again from the recipe used in the 60's, but I'm not quite sure where they make it. It ain't in Milwaukee, that's for sure.
