Goodman: Obama 'A Slow Learner'

LAS VEGAS -- Mayor Oscar Goodman has a bone to pick with President Barack Obama after he suggested people shouldn't spend their college savings on a trip to Las Vegas.

On Tuesday, during a town hall meeting in New Hampshire, Obama was trying to make a point that the federal government needs to watch their spending the same way American families do. But he used Las Vegas as an example, for the second time.

“You don’t go buying a boat when you can barely pay your mortgage. You don’t go blow a bunch of cash on Vegas when you're trying to save for college,” Obama said.

This is dangerous behavior on the president’s part. Dangerous because the president of the republic should be debasing American political jurisdictions.

It also shows that Mr. Obama is smug, self-absorbed, and still regards himself as the smartest guy in the room.

The truly remarkable angle to his crashing presidency is this: There are still people in America who buy into what Mr. Obama says.

Rush Limbaugh just played Goodman’s comments on his radio show. He said that Obama can’t apologize a second time, and that if he shows up in Vegas he will be shown the door so he can return to Washington and clean up the messes he’s making!

Somehow I don’t think the MSM will be reporting this. Is the CBS Evening News still on? I don’t think I’ve watched it since...I dunno, sometime in the 1980s?

Okay, fair is fair. I listened to the comments this morning on the radio (RUSH) when Obama made the statements. He was very cynical to talk about fiscal responsibility given his track record. But his comment about Vegas was not as off base as many are putting it. He used the word as a synonym for gambling. No one dislikes Obama more than me but on this one I will give him a pass. Rush made a big deal out of it and it WASN'T a big deal. This one makes us (conservatives and Obama opponents) look silly.
