I haven’t read the full thread yet but has J.D. Hayworth come out yet and announced that he’s running? If he is, I’d sure vote for him if I lived in Arizona.
I checked him out on a website called, “On the Issues”. http://www.ontheissues.org/House/J_D__Hayworth.htm
Can’t verify the truthfulness of that site, but what I saw was impressive.
I don't give a politician credit for "loyalty" to another politician. I give them credit for loyalty to their supporters and to their own principles!
“GET READY FOR IT............JD IS GETTING ATTACKED AS A “BIRTHER.””
Ok, that does it. You’ve made me wee-wee down my leg, and I felt a tingle too. heh!
“Why would you support someone you know is going to lose?.....I think she really wants him to win....She really believes McCain is a good man.....I could continue to say GO SARAH!!!......But something inside just isnt there anymore......Seeing the Oprah nonsense, and now this (whatever it is, you tell me) I just do not feel she is the same woman we saw on the campaign trail last year......Poor judgement, and you cant trust a leader with poor judgement.....
“
Seems to me some folks, like yourself perhaps, are sure fickle when it comes to their supposed support of a political figure (such as Sarah Palin). Let’s wait and see what Governor Palin has to say before you jump ship....IF you were even really on the Palin ship to begin with.
“How much does she owe him? One campaign? Two? Does she have to support him when he runs for POTUS again? Does she owe her support to McCain’s leftist pet causes, like global warming, gun control, granting Consititutional rights to foreign jidadists and crushing free speech? Does she have to help out McCain’s friends, like Charlie Crist and Carly Fiorina? Just how big is this debt, and when is it going to be paid off? Because having Sarah Palin beholden to John McCain indefinitely is like having no Sarah Palin at all.”
Your comment reminded me of the old saying, “with friends like these, who needs enemies”. Governor Palin’s beliefs are more in tune with Hayworths, but it sure seems to me that her commitment to McCain began before Hayworth decided to give up his show and MAYBE enter the race. Why don’t you let the lady speak for herself before going off on a negative rant about her. Just sayin....don’t whistle past the graveyard there.
“Sarah is beyond criticism. Dont you know that?”
PHHHTTTTT. Governor Palin is not beyond criticism. What galls me is those who have it in for her no matter what she says and does. Those attacks have come from the left AND the right. Not sure where you fit in, but your comment indicates that you don’t like the lady much.
“Im not a wishy-washy supporter......Thats a valid point...I think she really thinks McCain is a good candidate....Is that really what we need to build a true conservative base?.....And I dont want that kind of judgement in the white house....So you just look the other way because Sarah is beyond reproach......Like Jim Robinson said, no true conservative will support McCain.....Period”
I think Sarah Palin hoped to make a difference. I don’t believe for one minute that she and McCain agreed on all of the issues. That’s pretty much a matter of record, I believe. But you said that “Like Jim Robinson said, no true conservative will support McCain....Period”. Well, correct me if I’m wrong, but it was Mr. Robinson who did come out in support of McCain during the presidential election. And don’t give me a bunch of hooey about Palin being on the ticket. The one running for president WAS McCain.
“I wonder if Sarah is having second thoughts.”
I wouldn’t doubt it.
Obama was put into power (shudder) by people putting their principles on a high shelf in a dark closet. Is that what Sarah will be doing, or can she somehow powerfully represent two opposing viewpoints at one time?
How about the possiblity of campaigning with McCain during the day while he reaches across the barbed aisle, and invigorating crowds of tea party patriots by night, as they trash McCain and exalt Hayworth??
Would she have got there as fast as she did? No, but that does not mean she would not have risen to prominence in due time.
My God, between the BDS and the Palin worship, it has become impossible to comment on anything around here any more. Sheesh! Good day!
i have a question, too
upon what should support for a political figure be based....their personal appeal or the issues they stand for and the judgements and decisions they make ?
surely conservatives should be above getting all starry-eyed and treating political figures like rock stars. that's what the brainless dopes on the left do.
just curious. would sarah palin's adoring male supporters give her the same strong measure of support if she looked like helen thomas ?
"You Betcha !!!"
The website is still a work in progress, but it’s set up to take contributions now:
Time for McCain to retire gracefully.
He resigned his radio show on Friday to run. Don't know if the official announcement has been made, but it seems to be only a matter of time.
I'm willing to settle for less than gracefully, but retire he must.
Silly Red Steel...Rules are only for Republicans.
I never liked him, and the only reason I voted for him was to do whatever it took to keep that racist-communist Obama away from power.
That said, McCain is an enemy to Reagan Conservatives who prefer smaller government and the US Constitution.
I sure hope that Hayworth pulls a Scott Brown in Arizona.
Thank you, and wow, I’ll keep an eye on the Nebraska race!
Thank you, jla, we’ll try!
If you think that’s jumping on you, you truly need thicker skin. Wow.
