Lech Walesa Endorses Republican for Illinois Governor
Big Government ^ | 01.25.2010 – | by Publius

Posted on 01/26/2010 8:25:39 AM PST by Forgiven_Sinner

In an exclusive, Big Government has obtained a letter addressed by Nobel Prize Winner and anti-Communist hero Lech Walesa to the people of Illinois, endorsing Adam Andrzejewski, Republican candidate for Governor.

Mr. Walesa will be in Chicago this week to campaign for Mr. Andrzejewski. The primary election is Tuesday, February 2nd. The endorsement from Walesa may actually mean something to Illinois voters. Illinois is home not only to a large number of Polish-Americans, but a large number of voters from throughout Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union.

There is no clear frontrunner in the crowded field of candidates. Most of those in the race have deep ties to the Illinois Republican establishment, which isn’t the best qualification in the current climate. In the closing days of the campaign, the race seems wide-open.

Big Government has also learned that several tea party organizations, both in Illinois and out of state, are mobilizing their members behind Andrzejewski. This could be one to watch next week.

I plan to vote for Adam Andrzejewski, on February 2nd because he is motivated to clear up corruption and committed to helping the Illinois economy. Tell me who you will vote for and why.

Lech Walesa a man who actually earned his Nobel Peace prize. We are unfamiliar with this concept in America. We get Al Gore, Jimmuh and now Barry as Nobel winners. None of them earned it...

Foreign leaders campaigning in American cities, in ethnic enclaves, in primaries, with an appeal directed at that special group, over their non ethnic fellow citizens.

To this good old fashioned Texan, I can’t say that I welcome multicultural, global, border less politics in America.

I don’t look forward to famous Nicaraguan, Mexican, Saudi Arabian, Iraqi, Kosovo, Zimbabwean leaders physically showing up and campaigning and shaping our government, in the primaries no less.

Damn right! And that invader David Crockett and his buddies should have stayed out too.

Damn USians coming down to Tejas and involving themselves. Who do they think they are?

There is a large Polish population in Illinois and they appear to be politically conservative. Those I have spoken with do not want to see the kind of socialism they lived under in Poland. However, they seem to be somewhat “clanish” and don’t get involved alot with things like the tea party movement. Again, all anecdotal. I was originally going to support Adam for that reason—assuming he would get alot of support from the Polish community. But I’ve decided to give my vote to Dan Proft, just my personal preference. Adam and Dan are both conservatives. I feel Dan has the better temperament for dealing with the entrenched power structure in Springfield.

So you are rooting for foreigners to take over the United States? Weird.

Telling me that a Lech Walesa is Davy Crockett, here to fight against the Americans of Illinois is a shocking admission, I doubt that it is that bad but it very well may be when the next one is a famous Muslim King or a famous Mexican President.

What I'm telling you is that when a foreigner is trying to help you, try putting your xenophobia in a box under the bed.

When a foreigner is trying to harm you, that's different. That's something to be upset about.

What I am telling you is that we don’t need foreign leaders campaigning in our primaries, in our cities, if you attack patriotic Americans as xenophobic because they don’t want that, then indeed America has changed very much from my childhood, if you are anything other than a liberal.

Watch as the future unfolds and identify who joins you in defending this new concept of America, as nothing but the worlds multicultural bus stop, a land where the world shows up to divide the wealth and play politics as the heartland Americans continue to fade into history.

Would it make a difference to you if this was Vicente Fox coming to Los Angeles to campaign to Hispanics for a primary candidate in the Governor’s race against the republican voters of California?

“I don’t look forward to famous Nicaraguan, Mexican, Saudi Arabian, Iraqi, Kosovo, Zimbabwean leaders physically showing up and campaigning and shaping our government, in the primaries no less.”

That would have a negative effect on ordinary voters. I think their hope is that Walesa resonates with some bdoesn’t turn off others.

It’s important to show that conservatives in America have international support. Big media likes to lie that they all hate Bush/love obama.

Ah yes. The standard "If you don't agree with me you must be a liberal" attack. Yawn.

Watch as the future unfolds and identify who joins you in defending this new concept of America, as nothing but the worlds multicultural bus stop, a land where the world shows up to divide the wealth and play politics as the heartland Americans continue to fade into history.

While the "hang on to your old culture and resist becoming American" kind of current multiculturalism is destructive, the fact of the matter is that we are a country of immigrants that all contributed to our current culture. That's why you can get a taco and a beer at a ball game and no one is going to think you are some dangerous foreigner.

Those foreigners that understand that faith, fiscal restraint and honor are important traits and point out those Americans that have those traits are a plus.

Those foreigners that come here and talk down American values (like Vincente Fox) are not.

Painting all foreigners with the same brush is xenophobic and gives ammunition to those that want to call conservatives racist.

Accepting help from someone (even a foreigner) when it that help is pro-American values is a good thing. Why are you having so much trouble with that?

I think we’re all sayin’...

If foreigners a) support the same ideals we do according to our Decl of Ind and Const and b) don’t speak and act against us, and c) they keep their citizens in their own sovereign nation and do not smuggle them and dump them into our sovereign nation, they are “good” foreigners. Otherwise, they = “bad” foreigners.

Nothin’ wrong with the good, a lot wrong with the bad. Let’s keep the baby and just throw out the bathwater, no ?

Evidently you like the idea of world leaders coming to America to campaign to get their tribes and constituencies to vote the way these foreign leaders wish in local elections. The Governors elected today are the Presidents of America tomorrow.

I did not expect that reaction here at FR.

I sure do. When anyone influences people to vote for pro-American-value candidates I like it. Even if they aren't from here.

Evidently you don't.

That's too bad. And xenophobic besides.

I did not expect that reaction here at FR.

You should have. It says right there on the page before you post: NO profanity, NO personal attacks, NO racism or violence in posts.

Saying that this time it is some other American voter’s horse being gored by a foreign leader, campaigning in our heartland, is not much of a defense .

By the way, this is a Republican primary, some conservatives in Illinois may also be wondering what the heck is going on in their primary, in the land of Lincoln.

Where do you think this will lead, do you think that you will still be defending this lack of sovereignty of American elections in 10 years, 15 years?

And when these tribal leaders have values that are in line with real American values, your problem would be what again?
