Sen. John McCain (R) has known from an early stage that he could face a tough primary in his bid for re-election this year, and acted on it. He already launched radio ads touting his effort to block President Obama's "extreme left wing crusade." And just this week, Sen.-elect Scott Brown (R) recorded robocalls that went out to voters in Arizona.
Now, a Rasmussen poll (502 LVs, 1/20, MoE +/- 4.5%) shows the Maverick just over 50 percent in a potential matchup against former Rep. JD Hayworth -- not the best position for an incumbent to be, but an improvement over the dead heat Rasmussen found in November.
Primary Election Matchup
McCain 53 (+8 vs. last poll, 11/18)
Hayworth 31 (-12)
Simcox 4 (unch)
Und 8 (+1)

Interesting question.
“She said on the Glenn Beck radio yesterday when asked that she keep her promises”
She can re-evaluate this based on how her presence negatively affects AZ conservatives, the very people and candidates she has told us she will help. If she’s not going to perceive, understand and help conservatives, as she’s promised, what good is her zenith?
Do we really need another McCain running for POTUS? Is McCain dragging her to the big tent, Lame middle? It’s incumbent upon her to prove to us through her actions that she’s not like the other big party republicans that take us for granted. She’s *said* she’s different...now’s the time to prove it.
Are you in AZ?
Run, JD....we will back you. Remember Scott was down 30 points from Martha last month!!!!
“Good ole Sarah. I like the girl from Minnesota better.”
Double ditto!!
She’s going to make as big a difference, if not more, than Scott Brown has done — if she hasn’t already made that kind of difference. Sarah Palin is a rising star for the conservatives...
Sorry to disappoint you... LOL...
“Now, hating and hate are two different things in the internetz vernacular. You know that.”
That said, these are valid questions. Questioning Sarah Palin’s actions is valid, isn’t it Renee?
Yes, I’m in AZ.
Right now we’re all wondering if Hayworth is going to run. But he better hurry the hell up...we’re getting antsy over here.
Makes me wonder if her support wasnt some pre-agreed-upon condition to her being accepted/chosen and McStains running-mate.”
Are you serious? Come on...at SOME point you all are just going to have to accept that Sarah Palin makes her OWN choices...including accepting the invitation to be on the McShamnesty ticket in the first place and she’s STILL supporting him. If it walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, IT’S A DUCK.
I read her book and the only part I did not like was her over-effusive treatment of McLAME, but I figured,well... I suppose that is the only proper thing to do, patch things up and move on. EXCEPT I did not think that she would actually make her debut - in person, with all the media attraction that means - to campaign for the man that most conservatives... and SOCIAL-Conservatives detest.
I have to be honest, if she becomes more involved in his campaign, God forvige if she helps him get re-elected....WELL... that only means I made a mistake. If Sarah thinks McLAME is "the man" then she must not be "the woman."
I still love her dearly and I'm glad she made all that money... and do hope she is enjoying herself in her new role, because she deserves it and she is free to do whatever she wants just as I am free to choose they people who REPRESENT me, or in the case with MACACA, does not.
Let’s evaluate:
“Shes going to make as big a difference, if not more, than Scott Brown has done if she hasnt already made that kind of difference.”
OK. Time will tell. I’m a fan, and have been a fan. I disagree with her inserting her influence into this race where there’s a strong conservative running, whilst simultaneously acting like the unofficial spokesperson for the Tea Party movement.
“Sarah Palin is a rising star for the conservatives...”
Again time will tell. No amount of hoping and bravado can trump actions. No amount of star power can trump actions. Reagan was a star, *and* he acted. Clinton and Carter and Obama were all ‘stars’ but look at their execution.
It’s all about actions friend. Sorry to disppoint.
“. He already launched radio ads touting his effort to block President Obama’s “extreme left wing crusade.”
How soon we forget...
McCain wants to spend $300 billion to buy up bad mortgages; Martin Feldstein behind it
By Michelle Malkin October 7, 2008
I cant underscore enough what a rotten idea John McCains ACORN-like government mortgage buy-up is. I said it during my liveblog. And Ill say it again: HE WANTS TO EXPAND THE BAILOUT. He wants to do what ACORN wants to do. Were Screwed 08.
This was his supposed game-changer. This was the very first thing out of his mouth during the debate tonight his big pitch right off the bat. The McCain campaign immediately sent out this fact sheet on the proposal, which will cost at least $300 billion. The proposal involves directing the Treasury Secretary to purchase mortgages directly from homeowners and mortgage servicers. Thats on top of the trillion-dollar crap sandwich
Read that last paragraph again. He would enact this new spending plan using the authorities provided in the stabilization bill the same ones I reported on in my special column for the NYPost today championed by Obamas friends at ACORN.
Its a great idea for everyone who bought overpriced homes with Adjustable Rate Mortgages. Those who rented or bought within their means or locked into fixed-rate loans that they can afford are out of luck, naturally.[snips]

Someone got that wrong. The conservative ass-kicking will have to come on August 31, the date of the primary vote in Arizona.
“...love Michelle Bachmann... maybe Sarah should be helping her...”
She is.
+++++++++++++++
That’s the thing. She’s helping Perry and Bachmann...some think she should be helping a more conservative voice in the TX governor’s race (name escapes) but that Perry support isn’t as controversial as this McLame/Hayworth deal.
So she’s 2 for 3, which is good in baseball (??)
Oh, no. I LOVE questioning. Which is why I question the questioner’s motives.
I refuse to throw Sarah under the bus.
Perry=McCain=KayBailey=R.I.N.O.
Youtube the Texas Governor debates . This should convince most that Medina draws from a deep well of conservatism.
As you said, we’ll see... but I didn’t have to wait to see, and sit back in the last Presidential election — I voted for McCain and Palin... :-)
I personally worked hard for Scott Brown’s election. Even though I am in Florida, I was allowed to call Mass. voters to get Scott Brown elected. And did you hear, Scott Brown is going to be campaigning for Mr. McCain?
