It's great that Brown won. Beyond great for so many reasons.

That said, as is written in Holy Scripture be careful of putting too much stock in "princes," or princesses if extrapolated outward to other political figures.

Some highly deluded FReepers are already calling for him to run for president when he hasn't even spent a day in the senate. They'll be here to excuse him for this.

What's key is to remember that it's not about PEOPLE it's about IDEAS.

We got one today too in AZ. I think McCain’s polling against a potential run from JD has been bad for McCain. He is already putting out negative ads on the radio and JD isn’t even declaring he will run.

He can be an axe murderer, or worse, a McCain supporter, and I just don’t care.

McCain supported Brown months ago, back when no one thought he had a chance. Now Brown “owes” McCain. That’s how the game of politics is played.

“Free Republic Opinion Poll:

I am certain democrats are electing this guy..and republicans who don’t have a clue what he stands for.

Poll: Voters Unaware of Candidates’ Immigration Positions; McCain Supporters Farthest Off the Mark

# Only 34 percent of McCain voters, 42 percent of Clinton voters, and 52 percent of Obama voters correctly identified their candidate as favoring eventual citizenship for illegal immigrants who meet certain requirements.
# Of McCain voters, 35 percent mistakenly thought he favored enforcement that would cause illegals to return home, another 10 percent thought he wanted mass deportations, and 21 percent didn’t know his position.
# Voters often held different positions from the candidate they supported. Only 31 percent of McCain voters had the same immigration position as he does[snip]

If Scott Brown *didn’t* support McCain, after all the support that McCain gave him, I would think less of Brown.

Besides, if a conservative like Sarah Palin supports McCain over J.D. Hayworth, why would we think that a moderate like Brown wouldn’t do the same?

J.D. will need to run an underdog, “outsider” campaign. I hope that Democrats deem McCain to be the prohibitive favorite in the primary and that nop first-tier Democrats run, making it an easy general election for J.D. if he can beat McCain.

I really don’t care of George Washington called and supported McCain.

He’s OUT!!! Once a RINO always a RINO, IMO... He’s completely lost my trust and that is all that matters right now. Words don’t mean squat...actions do.

I’m very glad Brown was elected in a state with no statewide offices held by Republicans and where the Dems make up 90% of the state legislature.

That said, I don’t give a rat’s rear end about his opinion of McCain, other than that he is free to keep it to himself. Nor do I need Cindy McCain out campaigning for gay rights to know I despise McCain.

And while I understand why Palin might feel obligated to campaign for McCain...she isn’t on THIS ticket!

I’d vote for a steaming dog turd before McCain. Assuming I could tell the difference.

"J.D. HAYWORTH '10"

JD says that he can't run until he has paid off his legal expenses for having defending himself against bogus allegations and he has until 1/31/10 to do it, lest the amount owed is doubled. As he puts it, The truth may set you free, but it's expensive"
