3 dozen lawmakers want proof of Obama eligibility
WorldNetDaily ^ | January 18, 2010 | Bob Unruh

Lawmakers in Arizona have proposed a law that would require state officials to begin independently verifying the accuracy of newly required documents affirming the constitutional eligibility of any candidate for the U.S. presidency.

"Certainly, there has been controversy over President Obama and his birth certificate, where he was born, etc.," state Sen. Sylvia Allen, R-Snowflake, told the Arizona Capitol Times. "It just makes sense and will stop any controversy in the future to just show you are a natural born citizen."

She is one of about three dozen lawmakers to sign on as co-sponsors.

The plan would accomplish essentially the same thing as that proposed by Rep. Bill Posey, R-Fla., on the federal level.

The provisions of Posey's H.R. 1503 are straightforward: "To amend the Federal Election Campaign Act of 1971 to require the principal campaign committee of a candidate for election to the office of President to include with the committee's statement of organization a copy of the candidate's birth certificate, together with such other documentation as may be necessary to establish that the candidate meets the qualifications for eligibility to the Office of President under the Constitution."

Oh, man. Now you've done it. I hadn't heard Marty Robbins' "Ballad of the Alamo" in a very long time. Actually brought a tear to my eye, and that's not easy to do. Started me thinking about the movie with John Wayne. Now I'm going to have to try and find it on DVD.

Can't help but think of Obama as Santa Anna. Guys, he slaughtered the economy (The Alamo). Now it's time for the Battle of San Jacinto.

Nationalized Healthcare is going down.
Cap and Trade is going down.
The Democrats are going down.
Obama is going down.

REMEMBER THE ALAMO! MOLON LABE!

Oh, wow - that was just beautiful. Yes, that one got to me, too.

Some might call us just a couple of sentimental ol’ fools, but I don’t care. There are some things one ought to feel deeply about: God, family, country, remembering those lost through tragedy and those who sacrificed for our freedom, respect and appreciation for those who ‘stand the wall’ for us, the US Constitution and Declaration of Independence, individual freedom, honor and integrity.

We must stand against those who would destroy all we hold dear.

I dunno, call me a prude, or stupid for that matter...

But why do we need a law to force someone to prove something that the Constitution already mandates be a condition to serve in an office, in that capacity???

Don’t get me wrong...There is certainly something funny about this, and any sane person who puts themselves into the limelight and public scrutiny, that needs to be clarified in cases like this...

But then again the “collective” mental state of the person and their supporters ARE in question, and it would have been easier to accept if they came clean and proved their eligibility per the Constitution...It would have put to bed every argument about the problem...But no...They didn’t...

Personally I would love to have a legitimate, non-political evaluation to determine this...But that will not happen...

That is apparently the M.O., of a liberal statist to deny, lie, deceive, cheat, delay, wear down your opponents till they give up politically...

So...It seems to me that to beat them, you have to do so when the people get a chance to change things...That happens every two years folks...

If the party you affiliate fails to present viable options to accomplish that, then you have to fix that from within...To promote separation, fractures and allows those who want to keep on with the status quo and remain in power to keep on truckin’...

Eventually people get fed up, and wrestle control back...

I don’t believe people in this country are that fed up yet...Hehehe, yeah, I know alllll about the movement so far leading up to this next November...We’ll see...

If people want to get mad at me, I’ll tell you again...Prove me wrong, make the adjustments at that time, and we’ll see what happens...

Tomorrow is a new day, and we may very well make a change for the better if the folks in the great state of Massachusetts show up and reject liberal statists like Coakley and her minions...

Good luck, and we’ll see you guys later today, and see what happens...

Until then, and if the results favor conservatism, we need to continue the fight till we set a new tone in government...

Just my opinion...

Why not require anyone who runs for a federal office submit the same job application that those who need security clearance have to submit.

What I’d love to see is for members of his own party, democrats who realize what is happening to them and are not far-left leaning to decide to take measures into their own hands and demand an immediate accounting from their leaders. In short, democrats need to demand to see Obama’s vault birth certificate and all relevant documents and insist that they all be made public. Along with this, assuming that certain members of the current democrat hierarchy gave Obama help in getting this past the general public, those members should be held accountable not only to the public, but to the party which they are dragging down.

While I’d love to see the Republicans gain from the bill passing and 2012 being a better year for us, the country needs help NOW and if it must come from a bipartisan effort—that is to say, moderate democrats who are fed up with the Obama/Pelosi/Reid/Frank cartel, so be it. Sooner is better than later as it might keep the country from being irretrievably damaged. We don’t need to let them have three more years to trash this nation.

That's tempting, but it puts the government in charge of deciding who can run for office and creates the probability of the party in power using the check to kill any candidate by manufacturing a security breach problem. The Knights of Columbus could suddenly be discovered to be a subversive group.

In my opinion Obama is not one by his own admission being that his father was not a American citizen at all.

I doubt that your opinion will be a factor in the final legislation.

What’s Obama going to do in 2012 if this AZ law passes?

Cough up his birth certificate. He won't have any other choice.

If I am not mistaken, all that Hawaii can produce is the short-form COLB.

The law should be simple - whatever is required for a passport.

You can’t make access to the ballot difficult. Frankly, a homeless person should be able to run for the Senate if they so desire as long as they are qualified.

I’m not sure making it more difficult to run for office is the solution to any problem.

So, there you go. Problem solved.

I’m not opposed to a candidate having to prove eligibility by either age or residency.

I just easily see this becoming a “Hey...let’s make it impossible for the Irish to run for sheriff” type of thing.

Granted, I live in 1895.

As per Billy Cunningham Sunday show:

AP reported that BHO went to Occidental College as Barry Sorrento(sp) on a Fulbright Scholarship (offered to forgein students only).

This is the reason ALL his school records are sealed.
