How in the world is the miltary going to keep the peace in Haiti? They probably will be court marshalled if they shoot someone who threatens lives.

What I meant to say, which wasn’t put very well, was I don’t want them to be “set up” ..ie, absurd ROE, etc.
I am glad you brought up the praise for the Marines in these situations, I just don’t trust our administration, the state dept, etc.
Having said all that if anything can and must be done in Haiti, it will be the Marines who get it done.
Brit asked McConnell if Scott Brown is elected, did they have a way to get him seated promptly and if Kirk loses his right to vote immediately on the election of his replacement.
Mitch did not have an answer to that and I can only hope it is because he does not want to tip his hand regarding any plans they may have and not because he hasn’t actually considered it.
I don't guess they mentioned the Fox ratings bonanza as a result of those appearances. Yeah, Sarah is dumb (like a fox).
Our local bank, with huge revenues, never took a dime. Never lent a dime to anyone who was not credit worthy. Never lost a dime on their mortgages......is now being told they will have to pay an extra $45 million in ‘fees’ for the next ten years.

Before the Civil War the Congress would meet in the winter to spring more than a year after they were elected. They just appropriated enough money to keep the government running for two years. There was no federal budget as we know it.

It will be very difficult to undo without large majorities in both houses and a change in the current occupant in the WH.
Americans may love entitlements but the truth is that there are no entitlements to anyone in the bill.
