TEXAS ELECTION CENTRAL
We need names, positions, platforms, news articles, statements, pictures. We need to separate the RINOS from the Conservatives, and most of all, we need to get the liberals of either party OUT!
We can do this if you help. I have started this thread. All you have to do is contribute a little time and a little research. Help us help this country, and between us, we WILL take our country back!
Let's Do It!!!
Got info?
District 85 -Joe Heflin Dim, needs to be replaced by a conservative.
There is of course enormous amounts of information out there on all the candidates, particularly those that have been in office for a while. Brady has been a congresscritter from the 8th district since '96 so he has a sizeable voting history: TEXAS ON THE POTOMAC did a nice job of putting much of it on a single page -- with outside links.
The only opponent I'm aware of in the primary is a newcomer fresh out of the oven, Tyler Russell. He appears to be a decent young man but IMHO he's in a bad district to try to knock off another Pubbie with a good voting record AND who typically garners 65% to 70% of the vote in the general elections.
District 23 currently has Ciro D. Rodriguez(D)
http://www.rodriguez.house.gov/
voted no to cap and trade but yes to Obamacare. He’s pretty entrenched and I sure hope he’s GONE in Nov!
The conservative that’s running against him is
Francisco “Quico” Canseco (R)
http://www.cansecoforcongress.com/
I don’t know too much about him yet, but so far he’s looking good and he’s not Rodriguez!
Vote for Mike, District 12!!!

D Magazine put together a good article on him: Jeb Hensarling: The GOPs Most Powerful Nobody
He's definitely a keeper. I think he's unopposed in the primary.
REPRESENTATIVE JOHN CARTER is a keeper!
OK, I’ll post what I know/see. The Puente Bradshaw/Tea Party rally was very good. Puente Bradshaw was passionate and professional. I think she said she’d be on one of the Brownsville radio shows tomorrow. Not sure which one, might be posted to her site, www.texansforjessica.com. If not the site has a phone number.
1) Kay is a Real conservative in many measures of the word. However she fails in key areas.
2) Rick Perry is also a Real Conservative in many measures of the word (even more than Kay). He also fails in many key areas but he is very dependable on prolife measures and been, overall financially good for Texas. Unfortunately he is probably the least straightforward and honest person in the race.
3) Debra Medina is NOT a conservative. She is a libertarian/Republican not a conservative/Republican. Less conservative than either Perry OR Hutchison, Medina has become enamored with the Ron Pal nutty distortions of the constitution and while this has enamored her to his groupies thus catapulting her to respectable third, it has also capped both her support and competency to serve as governor. She can only serve to split enough of the conservative vote off of either Kay or Perry to be a spoiler. After the race is over look for her to accept the Libertarian nomination by acclamation from their convention.
For me, despite an obvious edge of smarmyness in the guy, Rick Perry is the best choice for any voter in Texas seeking to further the conservative cause (he also happens to have Sarah Palin's endorsement). However with Medina in the race distorting the choice, Kay may well end up with the nomination.
I won't be bothered much in any direction no matter who wins the primary as they are all pretty decent human beings and any of them will do a better job than Bill White of the Democrat party.
i’m not sure but i think i felt patriotic (it has been a while) when i read this...
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2431703/posts
1.) perry reminds me a lot of gw bush. he is OK but i wish we had better options.
2.) KBH is 100% politician... at this stage in the conservative fight, i wouldn’t touch her with a 10’ pole.
3.) needs to leave some of the mantra behind (i.e., the change you propose must be based in reality).
Feeling frustrated and/or angry at the system and they way it has betrayed us doesn’t make you NOT feel Patriotic, it just overwhelms all the other emotions. If you didn’t feel Patriotic, NONE of it would make you angry.
Right now, righteous anger is called for. Has been for a long time. But now, we see that if we continue to do nothing and wait for someone else to straighten it out, we lose a little more and a little more of our GOD-GIVEN Freedoms every day.
We are moving. We are moving TOGETHER and that is something this country has not seen for many, many years. Revolutions can be fought on many battlegrounds. This is one of them. And this is a battle we cannot afford to lose, because the NEXT battleground will be bloody.
This is war. Keep it coming. Stay angry. Don’t let the fight go out!

Thank you. Is there a Texas ping list?
Reposting to superfries’ original thread as well.
Can anyone tell me how to post a picture here? I have looked all around the post site and can’t find a button for pictures. Thanks!!!
Found two more news articles:

It should come as a surprise to no one that the Amarillo and Wichita Falls newspapers both endorsed Mac Thornberry for a tenth term -— he has been there so-o-o-o-o long and has so much seniority, says the Amarillo Globe News, plus:
“Most of Thornberrys previous campaigns have featured no intra-party challenges and token challenges from Democrats.”
The Amarillo paper barely even bothers to mention me, but supporters might find reading the posted comments on the article a bit more interesting.
The WF Times Record News, oddly, does not make the May 13th Editorials available online, but the Obama editorial is available for both May 13th and 14th??? So, obviously, there are no comments on their Endorsement. And they found so many things wrong with me:
“As a Tea Party member, Barlow vows to stand her ground in Washington, and not budge on the issues.”
“Barlow possesses little sympathy for those not willing to work for a living, but more than willing to take a handout.”
And they really did like Mac:
“Thornberry, if you look at his voting record, tries to fight the stigma in Washington these days that the parties cannot work together. He has cast votes that found support on both sides of the aisle. Thornberry has a calming disposition . . . .”
They “report” -— you decide!!!
