Sarah Palin to Contribute to Fox News
NYT ^ | Jan. 11, 2010 | Jim Rutenberg

Posted on 01/11/2010 9:55:13 AM PST by Al B.

Former Gov. Sarah Palin of Alaska has signed on as a contributor to the Fox News Channel.

The network confirmed that Ms. Palin will appear on the network’s programming on a regular basis as part of a multi-year deal. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Ms. Palin will not have her own regular program, one person familiar with the deal said, though she will host an occasional series that will run on the network from time to time. This person would not elaborate, but the network does have a precedent for such a series. Oliver L. North is the host of an occasionally running documentary series on the military called “War Stories.”

Many suspected that when Ms. Palin retired as the governor of Alaska last summer she was doing so to pursue some sort of career in television. The Fox News deal, however, would not seem to be all encompassing, and would appear to give her room for other pursuits, as well.

BOR has taken Sarah under his wing. If you saw Sarah’s interview with him you would see BOR as a mentor to Sarah. BOR will not disrespect Sarah especially now She is on the Fox team.

That doesn’t sound like “declaring for the presidency” to me.

She's never planned to run for the Presidency. First she resigns the governorship, then hawks her book and now she works for a news network. Too bad because I like her positions and she has been sounding better and better. Oh well.

"When she becomes POTUS would it be okay to call her Baberaham Lincoln?"

Actually, I think "Baberaham Palin" might work better? :>

This is GREAT news. I look forward to her Show!

RE :”First Kill All The Lawyers. True when he said it, still true today. “

Danny Devito said that in ‘Other Peoples Money’.

I think if democrats refused to follow the law under Bush your reaction would be the opposite.

I had to wing the other response at work, now had time to think about. Those personal attacks while bringing a few giggles on the left were replayed over and over on talk radio. And a theme was created (Rush started it),”They wouldn't be attacking her if she wasn't a threat”. The followers heard , “She is the one sent to defeat Obama” and so had to be picked off first, much like a Bible story.

But those attacks did not stick nor get repeated around the country much. What I heard in MD, by republicans and democrats, and on trips around the country was “She is not qualified” . Then the feminists said it was an insult to pick someone unqualified just because she was a women. (They loved Hillary.)

Outside of here that is what most voters thought. Now I don't remember either McCain or Palin prepared for that argument with a good response and her interviews didnt go well, fit into that theme.

So then she quits her governors job and now those that think she is IT swear she will be President, by Magic I guess.

I heard her on an interview come right out and say that she was caught off-guard and should have handled it better. So think what you want, we’re all entitled to our opinion. Personally I think people have been craving another Reagan for so long that they are seeing in her what they hope she would be rather than what she actually is.

“Huckabee has his own show. Newt is considered a fox news contributor, I believe. Nothing preventing these two from being potential presidential candidates.”

Except themselves...

Keeps her visibility high and her toes in the issue pond.

I love it. Good move, Sarah. Like all of your moves this past year.

This is a brilliant move - she can basically start her “campaign” and RECEIVE a nice cheque for air time rather than spending her money to purchase it!

You can find “Lost in Space” episodes on iTunes for a couple of bucks. It was one of my favorite shows. I also loved “It’s About Time.”

Thatcher was great, in her own English way. She really liked that actor/radio commentator turned Governor who was American through and through. Palin could be as great as Thatcher, but in her own American style. No one can say Palin is stodgy!

Re your #62:

Huckabee: “What am I. Yesterday’s chopped liver?”

After the murderer he pardoned back in Arkansas ambushed and killed those 4 cops out in Washington State and it came out how many other murderers and violent felons that Gov. Huckabee paroled or pardoned, he might be burned toast .... politically, and perhaps in regards to his FOX career as well. How have his ratings been lately?

Could they be “easing” Saracuda into the network to potentially replace one of their regulars whose popularity may be on the decline?

Don’t know for sure, but I’ll betcha that the Saracuda’s ratings would soon leave the Huckster in the dust, and make Murdoch very happy to have her on board.
