Jeff's blog on his Cancer
Father we pray for our friend Jeff. May he find your perfect peace as he continues to trust you with his life. Give the surgeons and medical personnel wisdom and perfect skill in treating him. Please keep him close to your heart as his body responds to treatments and to surgery. Help us to love him as our brother and give support and strength to wife Gail and their large and loving family. In the name of our Savior and Creator. Amen.
Jeff, as always you have my prayers and thoughts. Hopefully MD A will go with your idea and the treatment will work.
Thanks for another update. Just thinking about this morning on the way to work and lifted a prayer to Heaven for you. Stay strong. Prayers flowing upward for you.
Jeff, thank you for sharing what has been happening.
I am a great believer in what your elders did at church—the anointing of oil and powerful prayer. When two or more of you are gathered in His name, there He is, in the midst of you, as His word says.
I’m not good at climbing trees, especially those that belong to others. But with your forbearance, I’d like to go out on a limb here.
Before Dr. Rhine called, you had only one option, the radical surgery that could take your life just as well as the cancer, as the surgery is probably the most massive kind possible and the patient can still live.
But after you were anointed, and after one of your elders specifically said your doctor would call, and he did, you were presented with not one option, but a second option.
The second option keeps you whole for another six months, and would confirm if the cancer has spread from the sacrum.
But that six months does something else—if gives you and your medical team time to fully research the other options overseas. If the cancer has NOT spread, you have lost nothing, but you have retained your bladder functions for that additonal time. If the cancer has spread, the first option is still available, as radical as it is.
If you decide on the second option, perhaps you should have tests at 2,4 and 6 months so that any spread of the cancer can be detected and mapped as soon as it appears. That still gives you the ability to change course to the first option if the tests indicate the cancer is spreading.
But at the end of six months you may find that the radical surgery is not indicated, and we can pray for that result. We can oray that the radiation does more than promised, and the Lord restores you.
In my humanness I offer this from afar. I am concerned about such a radical surgery and your prognosis and life afterwards. Until you explained and diagrammed that surgery, I did not think that such a procedure was even possible without killing the patient, that’s how radical it is.
And I know nothing of what it is to walk in your shoes right now. It just strikes me that the Lord is giving you a message through what happened with Dr. Rhine.
I know you and Gail are running through the options now, and our Lord will lead to to perfect peace in whatever you decide, with His guidance. I still pray that the shadows on the stairs would move as the Lord did for Hezekiah, for you, as we selfishly want you around Freeperdom for a long time to come.
But when the Master calls, we must answer and trust in His words that He loves us with an everlasting love and nothing, not even death, can separate us from that love.
May God continue to bless you and Gail, Jeff.
Continued prayers for our Jeff BUMP.
Deep and heartfelt prayers, Jeff. You are greatly loved, admired and respected by all of us here.
Psalm 107:20
“He sent forth his word and healed them; he rescued them from the grave.”
May it be thus, O Lord, may it be thus, in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen ...
We’re praying hard Jeff!
I’m praying for a miracle for you Jeff!
A personal note: My dh had a brain condition (not cancer) but the level of medication he had to take made it almost impossible for him to work, drive, or function. Our church elders anointed with oil and prayed for him as we were planning to try a type of radiation treatment. The doctors did scan and reported they could not do the procedure. We were so disappointed! We wondered what happened and if God had an answer. They recommended that we check with another neurosurgeon - this new surgeon thought he could do surgery- even though it was a very unusual case (which we had been told was impossible). My dh had the surgery on Dec. 1st. There were many dangers associated with the surgery but PTL it was a huge success!!! He is now off almost all of the medication (from 19 pills a day down to 2) - he can work, drive, stay awake - it is a miracle for our family!!!
so , all that to say - I strongly believe in miracles and answered prayer. I also believe when God closes a door - you wait for further instruction. I am praying that you will be restored to many years of productive life as my dh has been. We need godly men like never before in our country - Bless you!
Beautifully said, Laz. That succinctly reduces everything all of us are saying to the bottom line. We love you, Jeff.
Our fervent prayer and the desire of our hearts is that your life will be spared from the ravages of this dread disease.
My husband just came in and I read your update aloud to him - stopping along the way to choke back tears at the overwhelming decisions that are before you and Gail.
You are so right,Jeff. God does know everything, and He knows what is best for each of us. Not only does He know what is best, but He wants what is best for each of us. He loves us.
Although we pray, this is so far beyond the scope of our knowledge and ability to know what to do. We praise Him and thank Him that all things are within His control. These two verses come to mind:
"So too the [Holy] Spirit comes to our aid and bears us up in our weakness; for we do not know what prayer to offer nor how to offer it worthily as we ought, but the Spirit Himself goes to meet our supplication and pleads in our behalf with unspeakable yearnings and groanings too deep for utterance." (Romans 8: 26)
"ALSO [Jesus] told them a parable to the effect that they ought always to pray and not to lose heart, and give up." (Luke 18:1)
We thank you dear Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, for taking our prayers before the throne of Your Father, our God, on behalf of this man, Jeff Head, who is so dear to all of us.
It is our prayer, Dear Heavenly Father, that Jeff's life on this earth be spared and extended with a rewarding degree of good health in accordance with Your Holy Will.
We ask that Jeff and Gail and Jeff's doctors be blessed and guided in all the knowledge and wisdom needed to make the decisions that will benefit Jeff most toward this end.
We trust in You, Dear Heavenly Father, and in our Savior, who love us more than we are capable of understanding, to do what is best for Jeff and his family, and we ask it through that same Savior, Jesus, the Christ who gave himself to reconcile us to You and save our souls. Amen.
And Amen.
God Bless You, Jeff. Stay strong. We are praying for you.
Oh Jeff. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Keep fighting.
This German cancer doctor has a very good reputation. He lived past 90 so he must have been doing something right. His cancer clinic continues on

Prayers for you and your family Jeff.
Thank God you have options now and thank you for sharing this. Prayers continue...
Continued Prayer for you Jeff.
Your strength, courage and faithfulness continue to inspire all who know you, Jeff. You will be in our prayers as always.
Jeff, you are, and have always been, one of my heroes.
To me you are the personification of what a man should be.
I consider you one of the great patriots, and have done so since your reporting on the Klamath Falls water theft and valiant bucket brigade.
I pray for you daily, and I hope God sustain you through this, and if it be in His will, that He heal you.
We need you strong and kicking.
Love,
Ed
Dear brother Jeff, you remain in all of our prayers!
When we pray we invoke “Thy will be done,” and we must have faith that it will indeed be done, as he surely is in charge. Few of us are given the gift of knowing in advance what the Lord will do, and most of us would second guess him if we knew, but we do know that his will is best.
Lord Jesus, Jeff is in your hands; thy will be done!
Amen.
