With the Republican Party on the cusp of major gains in the House next year and with the dream of retaking the House appearing to be a real, if improbable, possibility one major obstacle remains: tightfisted Republican incumbents.
The National Republican Congressional Committee, the key cog in helping to finance GOP campaigns, has banked less than a third as much money as its Democratic counterpart and is ending the year with barely enough money to fully finance a single House race no less the dozens that will be in play come 2010.
A big part of the problem, according to Republican strategists, is that GOP members themselves the ones who stand the most to gain from large-scale House gains havent chipped in accordingly, despite evidence of solid opportunities in at least 40 districts next year and with as many as 80 seats in play, according to the Cook Political Reports estimates.
In the past three months, only 75 of 177 Republicans most of whom represent safe districts transferred money into the committee, netting it $2.1 million. The average donation was just $28,000, with only 11 members donating $50,000 or more during that time period.

The real conservative people have wised up. Not wasting any more $$ on the NRCC just so they can push the RINO candidates. From now on, we will pay attention and send our dollars to the real conservative candidates.
More likely the sources of GOP $$ is struggling in this economy while unions, attorneys and $oro$ are having a bonanza.
Bring on 2010
Why am I not surprised? I give money to individual candidates. The GOP won’t get another penny from me.
The RNC and it’s various incarnations and the United Way have a lot in common.
You give them some of your hard earned bucks. They take a sizable chunk right off the top. Then they spread what’s left among a bunch of candidates/charities without any input from you.
I give money to neither.
I personally vet the charities I donate to. Same with candidates. And I keep vetting until I find a charity/candidate whose views parallel mine.
Been doing this for years. But I do enjoy returning the solicitation letters in the business reply envelopes. Sometimes I write pithy comments on the letters :-)
I hope the RNC is hurting for money big, big time. I hope they are worried about where their next fancy catered lunch is coming from. Serves the bastards right.

That would make sense if not for this from the article;

What would stop the candidate you contribute to from sending that money on to the RNC or the RNCC?
Face it folks, the Ruling Class Party has us by the short hairs. They set it up this way and it is going to take more than talk and contributions to change it.
That should read..."it is going to take more than talk, contributions OR votes to change it
“We can also that that fat RINO POS Newt Gingrich for NY-23.”
Perhpas, but what did we get when Newt was pushed out of the speakership and congress? Pubbbies abandoned the Contract with America that helped bring about the ‘balanced budget’ (the only congerss to ever have done this was the Gingrich congress) and started spending hand over fist on whatever suited them (Medicare part D anyone?)and cared more about playing with Dims than what is good for average folk. So, they kicked out Newt and started acting like RINOS... by what you say he should have been king of RINOS so why push him out and flush his agenda?
There is a difference between pragmatics and dogma. The problem with Obama and his ilk is that they do not know the difference. I hope that for the sake of the country that conservatives understand it. They apparently are having problems with it since the outcome in NY 23 isn’t any better.
