Adding I was talking about scientists, not diplomats. State is about the only place people can go if they are interested in a diplomatic career.

Which is why we should all be backing DeMint in his trying to block this guy Obama wants at TSA since the guy will not state emphatically he will not unionize the TSA... an agency that should not be under any circumstances given union protections... JMHO

but since the media very often refused to cover his speeches, and when they did always helpfully told us what he “really” meant, I don’t think it would have done any good.
Unfortunately, they still possess that censorship ability and use it on practically every Republican at every level.
Just for kicks indulge me. What if the numbers you guys use of 12 million were really 36 million how much worse would amnesty be?

How would you possibly know? No one said anything about you. I don’t expect you to know, but I do I expect our government to set up a system that can pinpoint the individuals who make decisions and give them the personal credit or blame they deserve. Faceless bureaucrats toiling in anonymity can afford to be casual in their approach. We cannot.
We have only one talk show host in the third world formerly know as South Fla. who dares go up against the illegals and the Hispanic take over of S. Fla.
She is Joyce Kauffman.
She gets away with it since she is of Puerto Rican extraction,is bi- lingual yet has a Bronx accent.
S.Fla is a strange place getting stranger by the decade.
She rails on illegals (simply from a legalistic standpoint) and the illegal movement day after day yet gives equal treatment to all, not a racist bone in her body.
It's a delicate maneuver to navigate within that minefield.
Problem being anyone with an opinion on race, immigration or several other issues within the same venue are immediately branded as racists by the drivebys and their surrogates.
Reagan was able to bypass the media and go over their heads.
No Republican will be allowed to get away with that technique again. The media caught on.
That is why during the 2000 campaign Bush suddenly disappeared from television screens. The press couldn’t find anything to trash him with, so they simply refused to cover him, because he was likeable and Gore wasn’t.
Same thing happened after 9/11; as soon as the worst was over, Bush disappeared from the TV unless he had a formal press conference or a State of the Union. And at the same time the media stepped up their anti-Bush message.
Whoever runs in 2012 is going to have to be very smart about communications and alternative ways to get her/his message out.
I support DeMint 100% on that. Besides, that guy being held up is a liar.

Many of us have said that over and over.
The key here is to learn from our mistakes. When we get back in, time to gut every commie institution and their followers we can, and fast.
Bottom line we are not corrupt they are.
President Bush was much better than President Gore, or even President Kerry. I shudder to think how close it was in 2000.
I know Pres Bush wasn’t prefect, and there’s a lot he did wrong, but come on, President Gore would have been a freaking disaster!
I don't believe the 12 million number. If there were really 36 million, you can just extrapolate from that, i.e., it would be three times the estimated additional 70 million who would enter legally over a 20 year period. The numbers would be astounding. This points to the major fallacy of all of this. How can the government legalize the status of the illegals without knowing how many are here? It is ludicrous.
One other note: In 1986, despite the fact that in order to apply for amnesty you had to be here for five years, there was a major uptick in illegals entering the USA prior to the amnesty. Fraudulent document centers were set up within blocks of where the government was processing applicants.
