A poor substitute for the usual thread.
OK ... John Brennan is now confirmed officially to be a LIAR!

He blasting Cheney for his remarks, and adds “I’ve worked for 5 administrations .. I’m not a Democrat or Republican ....”

The executive is a former senior CIA official and former interim director of the National Counterterrorism Center.
He contributed $2,300 to the Obama campaign in January.
When asked about the contribution, a State Department official told CNNs Zain Verjee, We ethically awarded contracts. Political affiliation is not one of the factors that we check.

Bushbots?
There is a HUGE difference between blaming a man for everything from cutting yourself shaving in the morning to being the secret leader of the Tri-Lateral Commission and point to factual evidence of what someone did to screw up the country that continued long after he left office.
Just like there are some things like TARP that Bush deservedly should continue to get the blame for...Bill Clinton did things above and below the radar that have ramifications even today.
I would hardly call that being a “Bushbot”.
My point...that you obviously missed...is that this Administration has been in charge for almost a year now...they’ve made decisions...bad ones..that have backfired and blown up in their face...and their blanket excuse for their own stupidity is to blame George W. Bush?
It shows a level of immaturity and inexperience on the part of this administration the likes we have never seen.
Bushbot? *snort*
Jan Carlson (legal) David Martin (foreign affairs/defense) Bob Orr (judicial ?), Nancy Cordes (?)and Schieffer.
Issues to fail: Gitmo, NY Trials of terrorists, Obiecare, pretending we're not at war......only The WH correspondant Chip Reid had encouraging words for Obies agenda and he's been getting the strongest does of WH cool-aid. Very encouraging.. Carlson predicts Elena Kagan WILL be the next appointee to the SC to replace Stevens
There is no doubt that the visa process is politicized. I have seen it personally during my 28 years in the Department. At the post level, consular officers are given visa referrals from intelligence agencies, political officers, the Ambassador, to issue visas to people who otherwise are unqualified to receive them. The Consular Officer's decision is final, but there are pressures to influence the outcome.
The main problem I see is the lack of communication and coordination among agencies. Bureaucratic turf issues and fear of compromising classified information result in various silos that operate independently of one another. The failure to share information can be catastrophic as 9/11 proved. IMO the situation has not changed all that much despite efforts to do so. Entrenched bureaucrats and the lack of accountability are the main obstacles. We also need to improve the technology creating and linking secure data bases among agencies.
Right now, our screening systems are more like Potemkin villages meant to deter and intimidate. Unfortunately, the bad guys are neither deterred or intimidated. It will take another major attack or crisis to refocus our efforts.
Well you were messing up our routines. I myself ended up putting my shoes on the wrong feet and brushing my hair with tooth paste.
The UK has also closed its Embassy in Yemen due to the security threat. We have done this before in Yemen and other countries when it appears that an attack is imminent. I assume it is only temporary. I support the protection of our personnel. It is only prudent to do so.
I nearly fainted when I heard he had been taken to the hospital by ambulance.
It was so great to see him looking hale and hearty at the press conference. Even better, he has had an incredibly thorough check up and has no heart issues.
All’s well that ends well.

Never. It is game, set, and match for the U S of A. Happy New Year. I forgot to mention it in my last post.
We can hope Brown wins Kennedy’s seat in MA on the 19th and returns the senate to 41 in the GOP camp..... of course we still have the two twister sisters from Maine who will vote with the dems 90% of the time, but it’s a shot across the bow nonetheless.
ROFL!
Impact of Amnesty: In analyzing the 2007 CIR bill, Robert Rector of The Heritage Foundation stated, The main fiscal impact will occur through two mechanisms: (1) the grant of amnesty, with accompanying access to Social Security, Medicare and welfare benefits, to 12 million illegal immigrants who are overwhelmingly low skilled; and (2) a dramatic increase in chain immigration, which will also be predominantly low skilled. The bottom line is that high school dropouts are extremely expensive to U.S. taxpayers. It does not matter whether the dropout comes from Ohio, Tennessee, or Mexico. It does matter that the Senate immigration bill would increase the future flow of poorly educated immigrants into the U.S. and grant amnesty and access to government benefits to millions of poorly educated illegal aliens already here. Such legislation would inevitably impose huge costs on U.S. taxpayers.
Heritage research has concluded that the cost of amnesty alone would be $2.6 trillion. And the number of additional LEGAL immigrants who would join those who were the recipients of amnesty through chain migration, i.e., family reunification, would approach 70 million over a 20-year period, assuming there are only 12 million illegal aliens. We cannot assimilate such numbers. An amnesty would destroy the United States of America with the stroke of a pen. Amnesty is forever.
Anybody know the golf scores the luxury vacationer shoots while 25% of the Country is unemployed? If he were a Repub that would be insensitive.

I picked up something when i was in Hotair.com last week, had to pay a guy to come in and clear it out of my computer, it went around AVG to get into my laptop computer and literally went off on it’s own installing itself, yet not showing up where I could remove it in the uninstall.. I looked it up and according to MSN this particular virus does just that, goes around firewalls and virus checkers... something is still eating my memory in this computer and the guy is coming back next week to work on it some more... I suspect I may have to end up reformating the hard drive.. all of this is why I don’t browse on the other computer at my desk since it’s my work computer (I work at home)....
The pantybomber may have gotten through but they did manage to hand search a grandma from Trenton. You should feel safer about that.

Thanks for the information from one who has actually been there.
It’s awfully easy (myself included) to start blasting away and assigning blame based on the limited information we have.
I agree about the lack of information sharing, which was discussed during the infamous 9/11 Commission Hearings and is apparently still not rectified. This is really hard for me to understand, when eBay has no problem notifying me when something I am interested in comes up for sale.
A bit of uplifting hope and cheer to start the New Year

No us “Bushbots” were blaming Gorelick and fighting the WOT as a judicial crime was why 911 happened. Same problem we have now, although nice apples/oranges comparison while getting a nice little Bush Bash in at the same time.

I don’t think they are smart enough to understand where the money for their big paychecks and retirement benefits flows from.. they are going to have to pay the piper sooner rather than later, however.... of course by then we’ll probably have a GOP president and the GOP will get the blame for fixing what O, Barney and company has finished breaking.
Due to the information I got from my son and here, I am restricting my computer use to a couple of sites and am not searching for anything.
This means some sites I normally check will be off limits for a while, but I work at home as well and I only have ONE computer.
I wish they could find the people who make these stupid viruses up. It is absolutely the most time-wasting, annoying, expensive thing for NO purpose except vandalism.
