I'll begin this discussion by stating that I am a Palin fan. I think she is a good person, and a good Christian. I like what she is doing for the party. She won't be my choice to be our next president, but I will confidently vote for he, should she win the nomination.
That being said, politics and political punditry are very different professions. Sarah Palin would be a TERRIBLE talk radio host. The obvious choice to replace Rush would be Laura Ingraham, who has her own gigantic following (without being on in the NY market). If Ingraham were not interested, Mark Levin, John Gibson or (Rush's current replacement) Mark Steyn would all be better suited to the role. Palin would be the first to admit that all are smarter than her. More importantly, a talk radio host must have an incomparable grasp of facts and current events. To say that this is one of Palin's shortcomings would be charitable. I wish Palin well in whatever course she chooses to follow, but this one is not for her.

Definitely Mark Steyn. And he’s got a great sense of humor to top it all off.

To the chagrin of the left, I predict that Rush will be around for many, many more years. So, the question of a replacement is very premature.

Rush is not a Neo-conservative. He is a ALL-Conservative. The fact is that no one could take his place. He is the one and only original. Who ever comes next, will be someone new, whom we don’t know yet.
To: Paul Ross
Seconded. I like Steyn better than all the others, including Rush.

Just out of curiosity, why do you say this? I’m not sure she would be my first choice for pres, but I have no reason to believe she doesn’t have a good grasp of national and international issues. Still, I’ve heard others say this, and I’m curious. Don’t misunderstand - I’m not challenging you, just asking.
