HONOLULU -- Conservative radio talk host Rush Limbaugh was rushed to a Honolulu hospital on Wednesday afternoon with chest pains, sources told KITV.
Paramedics responded to the call at 2:41 p.m. at the Kahala Hotel and Resort.
Rush Limbaugh AP Image Rush Limbaugh Limbaugh, 58, suffered from chest pains, sources said. Limbaugh was sitting in a chair in his ninth-floor hotel room at the Kahala when emergency crews arrived, sources said. He told medical crews that he was taking medication for a back problem, sources said.
Paramedics treated him and took him to Queen's Medical Center in serious condition. He will not be released from the hospital on Wednesday night, sources said.
He was seen golfing at Waialae Country Club earlier this week. The country club is next to the Kahala Hotel and Resort.
The radio show host had been in the islands during the holidays. Coincidentally, his visit comes at a time when two of the nation's most powerful Democrats, President Barack Obama and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, are also staying in Hawaii.
In 2001, Limbaugh received a cochlear implant after he suddenly lost hearing due to autoimmune inner ear disease. Limbaugh underwent treatment in 2003 for an addiction to prescription painkillers, including Lorcet, Norco and hydrocodone.
So true (Good vs. bad nuts! LOL)!
I’m glad you found the meds that help you. :) Neuropathy is horrid.
I think the steroids would only hurt me worse as they found a mass on one of my adrenal glands earlier this year, and although I’m still seeking a good Endocrinologist to do all the right tests and such, I’m pretty sure it’s secreting excess cortisol (I’ve got almost ALL the symptoms of Cushing’s now - although supposedly rare, it’s what fits with all my medical problems over the last 5 or so years... I guess we’ll see what the new year brings! LOL).
My daughter got a pretty cool pic of the blue moon a bit ago here in WI. She went to bed already now though and I don’t have it on the computer yet, otherwise I’d share it with everyone! :)
Strange that they wouldn’t mention that. There are even stickers on my prescription bottle that stress not stopping or reducing my dosage without talking to my physician. I’m pretty sure that little sticker is probably on your bottle, too! :) At least now you know! LOL
I agree with you re: FR, too — I’ve learned a LOT in the years I’ve been here, and not just about politics or history either! LOL
Yesterday his guest host Dr. Walter Williams said that Rush will be the one to discuss his condition when he is back on the air...no one else, due to privacy issues and privacy rights. So if you hear a diagnosis then it was leaked out against the law and Rush’s wish.
How neat! They say that often the “blue moon” can have a bluish color due to particulate in the air but I have never seen that. Glad you all got to see the moon last night.
We sure had lots of cloud cover here last night and in the wee hours of this morning we had real heavy rain. The kind of rain storm my sweetie calls “frog strangling” rain! It woke me up it was so loud on the roof! But it is always a blessing for us to get some good rain as we need it! :)
Hey BIGLOOK, have you notice the sulfer smell is especially bad since Pelosi got here?
Just saw this on my Twitter feed: Upfront_News - AP: Rush Limbaugh says tests show nothing wrong after chest pains hospitalized him.
