HONOLULU -- Conservative radio talk host Rush Limbaugh was rushed to a Honolulu hospital on Wednesday afternoon with chest pains, sources told KITV.
Paramedics responded to the call at 2:41 p.m. at the Kahala Hotel and Resort.
Rush Limbaugh AP Image Rush Limbaugh Limbaugh, 58, suffered from chest pains, sources said. Limbaugh was sitting in a chair in his ninth-floor hotel room at the Kahala when emergency crews arrived, sources said. He told medical crews that he was taking medication for a back problem, sources said.
Paramedics treated him and took him to Queen's Medical Center in serious condition. He will not be released from the hospital on Wednesday night, sources said.
He was seen golfing at Waialae Country Club earlier this week. The country club is next to the Kahala Hotel and Resort.
The radio show host had been in the islands during the holidays. Coincidentally, his visit comes at a time when two of the nation's most powerful Democrats, President Barack Obama and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, are also staying in Hawaii.
In 2001, Limbaugh received a cochlear implant after he suddenly lost hearing due to autoimmune inner ear disease. Limbaugh underwent treatment in 2003 for an addiction to prescription painkillers, including Lorcet, Norco and hydrocodone.
“LIMBAUGH REP SAYS RADIO HOST APPRECIATES WELL-WISHES/LIMBAUGH SAID TO BE RESTING COMFORTABLY.” Per Fox News at the bottom of the screen.
Just posted on Rushes website:
...states that he is resting comfortably.
You’re welcome.
Going throught his myself has opened my eyes to how horrible it is for anyone sufferning from chronic, long-term pain.
I could not judge Rush when he had problems and could not judge him now.
It’s not an easy life, especially when you have people telling you to “just deal with it”, “give you what you love to do/life” or the hypocrites on the left smoking their bongs while condeming a man with a serious health condition when one of the most effective treatment leads easily to at least physical addiction/dependence.

Hmmm, SOURCES SAID...they’d better not reveal private medical information or they’re going to be sued!!!
Get well soon Rush. Prayers up!
Excellent post.
Funny, I have recently fantasized how we could some how keep Rush “alive” forever by preserving his brain and attaching some mechanism to it that would allow a computer generated voice to broadcast his shows.
Thank GOD for Rush, truly.
I just heard news on ABC and they’re already bringing in his previous addiction. SOURCES said...who? No, it’s just an excuse for them to bring up his past. Creeps!
Where is that video when we need it, of Diane Sawyer on the air stinkin’ drunk???
Normally in a situation like this I would go over to Twitter or DU to monitor people’s responses, but I can’t do it tonight. There’s just so much hate. It’s beyond me how someone can live a normal life with that much hatred inside. I would think it would get rather old eventually.
Obviously Hawaiian vacations are bad for your health. /sarc
I wondered the same thing. He mentioned on the air, sometime in the last month, that he was in quite a bit of pain (in his back) but wouldn’t take any pain medication.
He implied that we know why.
Prayers up, Rush!
He needs a food taster that close to obama
Prayers up !
What is he doing over there?
When I first heard of his peril I was thinking exactly that. But I'll play armchair doctor and suggest he had a scare due to heartburn from the meds for his back.
Been there and got the t-shirt (though not from meds so much as more mundane upper GI issues and lousy diet). Acid reflux can cause many of the classic symptoms and indeed I have been prescribed nitro pills for the pain. Only took it one time because it seemed to just make things worse.
FYI Dear Reporter, Norco is just another form of Hydrocodone (Vicodin). I’m “on” Norcos for my recent hip replacement surgery. The difference is the amount of Tylenol in each. So they are basically one and the same. The Norcos have less Tylenol(acetaphetamine). Which is what f’s up your liver.
I think they just wanted to add it to the list to make it sound like he’s some strung out junkie.
And, btw, anytime ANYONE is taken to the hospital, it is always “serious”. It’s the word “critical” that is used when you should perhaps start to worry.
Love you Rush. Get better and tell us what really happened.
BTW, anybody, this new source, Lib???? Neutral???
Unless you are the big Zero who is working so hard to destroy this country that he’s friggin tired.
Continued prayers for Rush.
God Bless Rush!!! He is a good conservative!
Just in the last few weeks, Rush had been complaining about the severe back pain he had been experiencing—he even had to do the show standing up at some point. He mentioned then that he could not take any serious medication for it. I would imagine that the EMT/Paramedics want to know every medication he had been taking prior to the event...even Tylenol or Flintstone vitamins.
