I recall a 5.9 in El Centro that I definitely felt in Chula Vista. The Landers 5.9 was a damn good shake in Mira Mesa. The longest quake I've experienced was in Federal Way, WA. It continued for around a minute and the epicenter was about a mile from my house. I had to plant my hands on the walls of the hallway to avoid being knocked off my feet. My mom was holding the kitchen cabinet closed to avoid being showed with glassware. I watched a vase full of flowers dance across the kitchen table. Fortunately, the shaking ceased before the vase came off the table.

First thing I thought too, but when I checked the story on the sea lions, they were in Frisco. That’s an awful far way away from this quake.

5.9 wouldn’t do much in the USA probably, but some of their construction is well below our standard

With parts from China and labor from Mexico, give us time, amigo...

Well it looks like the Sea Lions got the H out of Dodge before the BIG ONE.

Don't say BIG ONE to Fred!

Heh The Sea Lions were my first thought upon hearing about the quake too.

Our lil bay front has its resident sea lions too.

Just a few miles up the road from us.

I will have to take a look next time we head to town.

The only time they come up the bay this far is in Jan when the Killer Whales come into the bay looking for some Sea Lion Dinner.

quake is no problem to anything out in the open. it’s just city-dwellers that have a problem

I live here in Northern Baja and I definitely felt it! The whole house shook, it was a pretty good shake, it frightened me, but after a few seconds I realized it wasn't "the big one." lol!

I heard there have been a lot here today, but I only felt the main one.

I’m in the South Bay. I didn’t feel much shaking or rolling, but the vertical blinds were moving. I thought it was the wind at first, but as “cold” as it’s been here, the windows are closed.
