CIA rejects charge it failed to share bomb suspect intelligence
Breitbart ^ | 12/30/09 | staff

The CIA on Wednesday rejected accusations that it failed to share vital information with other US intelligence agencies that might have helped prevent last week's attempted plane bomb attack.

The intelligence agency rejected charges that it possessed, but failed to disseminate, information about Nigerian suspect Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab that might have led to his being placed on a no-fly list.

"We learned of Abdulmutallab in November, when his father came to the US embassy in Nigeria and sought help in finding him. We did not have his name before then," said CIA spokesman Paul Gimigliano.

"Also in November, we worked with the embassy to ensure he was in the government's terrorist database -- including mention of his possible extremist connections in Yemen," the CIA spokesman said.

"We also forwarded key biographical information about him to the National Counterterrorism Center (NCTC)" Gimigliano said, referring to the government office tasked with compiling and integrating intelligence from various US agencies.

"This agency, like others in our government, is reviewing all data to which it had access -- not just what we ourselves may have collected -- to determine if more could have been done to stop Abdulmutallab," Gimigliano said.

Ohaha stupidly tells America "US intel agencies failed to connect the dots".....robotically reading the leftie script written by the Van Jones crowd.

===============================================

US intel does NOT fail to connect the dots. Only in the diseased minds of the Ohaha creeps would that be suggested.

No question in my mind that the CIA informed a “higher up”......and nothing was done.

All we have to do is wait until the CIA leaks the name of the “higher up”....then we need to impeach him and throw Rahm and Axelrod, and the rest of the Chicago mob out of the WH, on their sorry ***es.

The White House has is it in for Panetta, who infuriatingly stuck up for the CIA in the Pelosi briefing bit. Throwing Panetta under the bus to absolve the WH of this would settle a score as well.

The CIA/Panetta is fighting back with counter-leaks.

......the 0bamao admin was looking for another "extraordinary event" so they could grab even more power. The undie incident was the cover they needed. IOW words, it looks like they were in on the plan.......

Interesting that both Robert (the Slime) Gibbs and DHS Janet BOTH mouthed the same fatuous line ...."The System Worked."

Looks like they had all practiced what to say, beforehand.

After Zero and Pelosi did everything they could to nail the CIA to the wall, what did they expect?

After undermining Bush for so many years, I wonder if they enjoy the lefty in there now?

As many have predicted, CIA/Panetta have no alternative but to push back against Obama. Depleted as the CIA may be these days, I still wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of their push back.

Father of Terror Suspect Met With CIA Official in Nigeria
wsj ^ | 12/29/09

The father of terror suspect Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab met with the Central Intelligence Agency at the U.S. embassy in Abuja, Nigeria, and told of his son’s likely radicalization, according to the CIA. The initial meeting Nov. 19 led to a broader gathering of multiple U.S. agencies the next day, including representatives of the Department of Homeland Security, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the State Department and the CIA, in which the information was shared, a U.S. official said.

CIA, have you not gotten the memo that you are not appreciated or taken care of by Obama yet?

Please, let some CIA operative discover the ties we all know is there to take this man out.

Of course it’s the CIA’s fault. Narcissists never make mistakes. Just ask them.

About time they start letting everyone know they are not going to be the whipping boy for ZERo.

The CIA says they didn’t know about the diaper bomber until his father contacted them last November?

They didn’t notice that he traveled to terror camps in Yemen? They didn’t notice even earlier that he was the leader of a vicious Muslim academic hatefest in London way back in 2007?

See kristenn’s thread on this.

It’s bad enough missing out on a tip. But the CIA isn’t supposed to sit there waiting for tips. They are supposed to be out there gathering information themselves.

Yep, the intel agencies are so busy monitoring the angry gun-toting-bible-clinging-right-wingers that they had to call in Interpol to help monitor all these dangerous radicals. No need to worry about radical Islam though - everyone knows that Islam is the Religion of Peace, so the Radical Islamists are actually totally harmless. I'm sure the so-called-alleged-Christmas-bomber wasn't really trying to blow up the plane, he was just trying to bring some much need holiday cheer to the other passengers in a multi-culturally-diverse manner.

We all need to become much more seeeeeeeeennnnnsitive...
