Two of the four leaders allegedly behind the al Qaeda plot to blow up a Northwest Airlines passenger jet over Detroit were released by the U.S. from the Guantanamo prison in November, 2007, according to American officials and Department of Defense documents.

American officials agreed to send the two terrorists to Saudi Arabia where they entered into an "art therapy rehabilitation program" and were set free, according to U.S. and Saudi officials.

No. By Bush for not fighting them to the bitter end, and telling them exactly where they can stick their “art therapy rehabilitation”. Pelosi can fume and huff, but only the executive branch can administer a prison.

Saudi Arabia, one would hope, would have learned from its own terror attacks not to play nice with them. But then, Saudi Arabia is proud of learning absolutely nothing ever.

"Freed, unfortunately, by George W. Bush. "

Yes, freed by Bush in 07, but instigated the attempted bombing - not in 07, not in 08, but in 09...obama's watch.

The fool knew better than to try it while Bush was still in there, but when the muzzie kenyan took office, all these opportunities opened to the terrorists, and they're acting on them. He's been in office 11 months, and the terrorists have had the time to plot out their next moves.

Nobody...but nobody but the programmed bush bashers would try to tie this to Bush releasing this guy in 07...hell all you heard from the left and the press in 07 was "close gitmao, close gitmo, close gitmo"...we thank God he didn't close it, but some were released.

The terrorists are empowered by the presence of obama and this probably won't be the last incident either.

The same way Obama does with giving them their Miranda rights.

Maybe next time, we can just shoot them. Or push them out of a plane while flying over the ocean.

Well, at least in hell they’ll get something other than waterboarding and/or art therapy rehabilitation. So I guess we might as well just sort of not get too mad when someone in the field remembers to forget to keep the safety on his Browning 1911 while Mirandizing the perp.

Of course President Bush is not blameless, he did indeed succumb to pressure from the left and release jihadists from GITMO. For that he deserves criticism.

You may be right, but I'm not certain the release can be blamed on President Bush.

For one thing, the US turned these guys over into custody of the Saudis. Now whatever you think of the Saudis (and I don't trust them one bit), the royal family there has as much to fear from jihadists as we do.

So it wouldn't make sense for Saudis to release their own known enemies.

Nor are Saudis known for giving jihadis the kid glove treatment.
Aren't they better known for what they're willing to do in "rendition"? This "art therapy" program (if that report turns out to be real) might indicate there was little evidence against these perps at the time they were relased.

I was just annoyed because I was going to send it out to my list, but haven’t done so, because it won’t change any leftist minds when they see the date.

TSA, HLS, FBI, CIA and CinC will be combined into one parenting organization: DLDS, otherwise known as Day Late and Dollar Short. I will sleep well tonight.

The US and Saudi administrations are saying this, and we are to accept moslem utterances at face value because they tell the truth to infidels?

0bama, Piss-buh, wouldn’t lie to us, would he?

>> No. By Bush for not fighting them to the bitter end

This is no less the GOP’s responsibility, the media’s responsibility, and the other miscreants that politicized Gitmo.

I think it is wrong to blame Bush for the apparent inability to stem the PC tide that facilitated this security breakdown. I’m having difficulty thinking of anyone outside the Bush Administration that stood by Bush during the tenuous politicization of Gitmo.

How is this different than what happened at Ft Hood in the context of Political Correctness?
