A passenger on a Northwest Airlines flight from Amsterdam, Netherlands, to Detroit, Michigan, caused a brief disturbance Friday at the end of the trip by igniting firecrackers, a Delta Air Lines spokeswoman said...

Good thing I can’t take a plastic knife on a plane.
1. If the guy was already on the “no fly list” how in the H did he get on the plane in the first place?
2. Since this attempt was bungled, do they have a contingency plan that is yet to happen?
Thank goodness nobody was seriously hurt. But this MUST serve as an eye-opener.
Whether or not this guy was genuine al-Qaeda remains to be seen. However, this was a failed terrorist attack over U.S. soil, performed in the name of Islam, on Christmas day!
So the following questions remain:
Why have we not been re-assured by the Commander-In-Chief that the situation is under control, and EVERY effort is being made to protect Americans against future attacks?
If the suspect is indeed a Nigerian national, and attempted this attack in the name of his faith, will he be tried as an enemy combatant, or will he simply be arraigned in a Detroit courtroom on Monday morning for illegal possession of fireworks?
Will the "Mainstream Media" ever admit that we ARE still at war with an organized foriegn (and domestic) entity committed to the destruction of America? Simply refusing to acknowledge the War on Terror doesn't mean the war doesn't exist.
The War on Terror will not be over until all the terrorists are "shovel ready".
We forgot. That sums it up quite well.
I'm sure there was some objection to using it for this particular person and the Danes were sure to acquiesce.
There are certain homemade explosives that won't set off normal detectors, including bomb sniffing dogs (unless they have a conventional detonator). They are very sensitive to impact and fire.... think shoe bomber. They can be made from ordinarily harmless products in your garage and medicine cabinet and are AQ favorites. At first glance it looks like flour, sugar, or even concrete mix. They are also quite lethal.
Genius.
Sadeq Naji Ahmed, whom the Transportation Security Administration
hired as an airport screener after the Air Force kicked him out for making
statements supporting Osama bin Laden and praising the 9/11 attacks.
Ahmed worked almost a year before TSA found he previously had his security clearance revoked.
I take this route back and forth to Europe several times a year. Last time I sat next an Iranian. He was an engineer for Chrysler believe it or not. I was pleased to see border patrol pull him to the side for extra screening as we were boarding ther plane.
Reefer Madness was made in 1936.
Just trying to help....
It says in the article the guy was on the no fly list. Good to see TSA is on it.
You would be surprised at the securoty at the Amsterdam airport. Not only do you go throught the detectors but every passenger is interviewed prior to boarding.
Thank you.
I actually tried to google it before my post but nothing came up. Anyway, looks like it wasn’t fireworks. Reports now say he tried to set off an explosive. Wonder how he got it on the plane?
The article also says "The passenger created a disturbance by lighting what was reported to be firecrackers..."
Paging George Orwell.
Rep. Peter King, R-N.Y., identified the suspect as Abdul Mudallad. King said the flight began in Nigeria and went through Amsterdam en route to Detroit.
We can all look forward to having this terrorist tried in civilian courts when he is clearly an enemy combatant.
