Senate Republicans have agreed to end their filibuster of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reids (D-Nev.) health care reform bill a few hours early on Christmas Eve, a move that will allow the GOP to technically stick to its promise to force Dec. 24 vote on the measure while still making it possible for Senators to return home for the holiday.

BTW, how are those on the hill covered for healthcare (as you know they’re exempt, hence not universal)?
Good enough for you, not for us.
Just called mcConnells office

Do you have their number handy?
Greeting parties at the airports armed with buckets of tar and feathers. To quote Barrack Hussain Obama, “The time for talking has passed.”
A lot of us feel the same way you do. We need a war cry we can answer to.
Health care vote is 8AM. And they will vote to hike the debt ceiling. I assume the GOP filibuster of that will collapse, too. I believe that means the Senate does not have to come back before the end of the year. Socialized medicine and even more public debt for Christmas. At least the Senators get to go home to their mansions and mistresses for Christmas.
God bless you!!! Merry Christmas!
How the hell does requiring a 2/3 vote to overturn amendments to this monstrosity make Democrats worthy of such consideration?

Scum.
[”Shall we try everything we can to halt this crapfest bill or should we focus on going on holiday? Screw the citizens, let’s cut-out early.”]
Reminds me of that scene in “History of the World, Part I” where they over hear the Roman Senate voting! Or even the “harumph” scene in “Blazing Saddles”! Just go along to get along!
At a news conference Friday in the Capitol, Republican Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky and Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., accused Democrats of trying to ram the health care bill through with dozens of changes as yet unseen, and promised to do all they could to prevent it.
Well, they are old,and full of more s^$t than a Christmas goose, time to retire both of them.
There's always the Jeffersonian approach. But let's just vote the blood-sucking slime balls out.
I have no problem with this. He is McConnell is being realistic which more than I can say for some here. The only thing I would like to see is the republicans just walk about at noon tomorrow and tell the democrats it is their tar baby and theirs alone.
Leader of Senate: All fellow members of the Roman senate hear me. Shall we continue to build palace after palace for the rich? Or shall we aspire to a more noble purpose and build decent housing for the poor? How does the senate vote?
Entire Senate: F@#K THE POOR!
“We can thank the fools who voted Third Party or sat at home last election for this crap.”
Please, stop with that phony line. It is statistically wrong, and you know it. I was ‘pragmatic’ and voted the R ticket...WISH I had not! When we stop voting for these rinos, we’ll get some representation. When the R diehards get the spine to walk away from these phony candidates and the PHONY Republican party, we will see a change.
We can thank the fools who voted Third Party or sat at home last election for this crap.

Yes. That and WEAK Republicrats. Time for the TEApublicans to TAKE OVER.
It would be cheaper for us and our grandkids to give all 100 of these a$%clowns each a billion bucks at tell them not to come back in January!!!
We’d ALL be immeasurably better off.
....replace with Imhofe...
Didnt Imhofe answer Coburns prayer and miss the vote this morning...60 to 39? What a bunch of clowms. What an utter disaster.
Santa rewards Patriots who make sacrifices for their country on Christmas, even the only Christmas present they really want is just to be home with their families. Mitch McConnell, you have no honor. |
He can’t lose what he never had.
