Twenty senators are demanding an investigation into reports the Obama administration threatened to close Offutt Air Force Base in Nebraska if that state's Democratic senator, Ben Nelson, didn't join other Democrats in voting for health-care reform.
The group of 20, all Republicans, today called for a hearing in a letter to Senate Armed Services Committee Chairman Carl Levin, D-Mich., and the committee's top Republican Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz.

Senators should realize that if Obama will threaten one senator, he’ll threaten others.
And probably already has.

If the closing of Offutt is the ‘Stick’, I wonder what the ‘Carrot’ was that Sen. Nelson refused to take? Or did Nelson already take the bribe & didn’t ‘stay bought’ when he saw what other senators got?
This should make for good entertainment. Methinks this is just window dressing to allow Nelson to bail on bammy while defending his state’s rights. Pretty much guarantees his re-election. Touche pubbies, nice disinformation play. Keep it up.
And the probe should be as in colonoscopy.

this is not the GOP, this is the country club protecting their own.
Think of states where there is an elected judge system. If any lawyer runs against a sitting judge, then the other judges help circle the waggons. (unless there is something really indefensible going on with the judge)
I think there is the START of a balance of powers fight. (not the fake claims against GWB) Obama’s WH is essentially the true imperial executive presidency based on the concept of “the incredible wonderfulness of being Obama.”

It won’t happen unless everyone works toward that end. I’ve never observed as many angry people as I have in the past five or six months...
