Republican candidates have bounced back to a seven-point lead over Democrats in the latest edition of the Generic Congressional Ballot...Support for GOP candidates is up just one point over the past week, but support for Democrats slipped two points.

BTW, a lot of R incumbents are, thankfully, dead meat.
The economy is bound to improve by some measure before November (unemployment, the stock market, GNP, inflation ... anything). You can count on the Democrats and the MSM seizing on whatever measure has improved and talking endlessly about how the Democrats have saved us from Bush's recession.
Of course, by every possible measure, the economy was doing great until 2006, when the Democrats took over Congress. Since then, everything that should be up (e.g. the stock market) has gone way down, and everything that should be down (e.g., unemployment) has gone way up. They don't like to talk about the fact that everything started to go to Hell only after the Democrats took control.
Unemployment is the key number and I doubt thats coming down. The Democraps are going to bleed, I just hope the Republicans can take advantage fully
There are two other factors.
The BBs are starting to retire.
If HCR passes, Medicare benes become a BIG issue.
PLUS, the Dums do NOT plan on paying the COLA in 2010 either.
When the hangover turns into one giant HEADACHE.
Repubs had better hope they are on the peoples side.

Unemployment is not going to drop down to what it was before the Democrats took over Congress or even down to what it was when Barry took office, but I'll bet that it peaks and drops slightly before the November 2010 elections.

Oh, and dont forget the Bush tax cuts expire next year. Obozo is going to stink like a sewer line.
