Free Republic is a fringe right-wing Christian fundamentalist site... or so they say... and they might even be right.

We don't go for any of that godless left-wing big government socialist malarkey. And we do put our faith and trust in God, not government. We are pro-God, pro-Life, pro-Family, pro-Country and pro-Liberty.

We do not believe that government or science knows what's best for us or our children. We will make our own decisions thank you very much.

Every once in a while some group of posters get together and try to bend Free Republic to their will. Now, we tend to be pretty free-wheeling around here and will take a lot of guff and a lot of obnoxious insults from a lot of people, but eventually a breaking point is reached.

For example, when a group of RINO lovers recently banded together to try to force FR to accept an abortionist/gay rights RINO as our presidential candidate, they soon found themselves on the outs.

And a few years ago a group of evolutionists tried to force FR over to their way of thinking and they soon found themselves on the outs.

FR is a pro-God, pro-Creator, pro-Life, pro-Liberty site.

And now we have yet another group of Darwinists trying to have their Darwinist way with us. Well, as I've said before what doesn't kill us will only make us stronger.

Darwin Central has again declared war on FR. They have ping lists and email lists and will try to pull away as many FReepers as they possibly can. So be it. Those who would rather go with Darwin, please go. I sure as hell won't try to stop you.

FR will remain a pro-God, pro-Life, pro-Liberty, pro-Creator conservative site.

We wholeheartedly believe that our unalienable rights are a gift from God our Creator not from man or government. And no man, no government will ever deprive us of same.

Keep your powder dry.

Logically, since God created the world, He also knows all the scientific principles behind its “good” establishment. I took a college Bio 101 class last year and many times the word “chance” was used and there was no explanation for the sudden appearance of flowers all over the globe.

The important thing to remember is this:

1 Corinthians 13

” 8 Love never fails; but if there are gifts of prophecy, they will be done away; if there are tongues (languages), they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be done away.

9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part;

10 but when the perfect comes, the partial will be done away.”

In other words, only love will be eternal, all those principles in effect today will be moot when heaven and earth are one and we are living with God.

God has (had) no need of evolution. Why? Because he saw the final (evolved) product before He ever could make a crude prototype (using the analogy of man’s method of product invention and development).

If He saw every possibility for improvement that could or would ever arise, why not make the final version first and be done with it? He could do that because He can see infinitely into the future. Man cannot, and so has to keep modifying his constantly obsoleting product.

I am a religious guy (Catholic, though a skeptical one), but I keep it to myself. I get uncomfortable with Christians that seem to want to exclude non-Christians or non-believers just because they are such. I went through a time when I was an atheist but I never gave up the ideas of Republicanism, meaning we have rights that transcend gov’t. The Founders said “Creator”, not “Christian God”. You could believe you were created by Gaia or whatever and still know that your Fundamental Rights exist.

Heretic talk! There hasn't been a Republican Purity Oath in the past, but seems like we might be headed toward one.

I wonder if Christ would've been allowed to be a Republican what with his tolerance, and even love for sinners and saints alike.

A great many of us believe that evolution is the how, but God is the Why.

Sacrilege, treason! Burn the heathen! That's what Darwin said in his autobiography: ... the extreme difficulty or rather impossibility of conceiving this immense and wonderful universe, including man with his capacity of looking far backwards and far into futurity, as the result of blind chance or necessity. When thus reflecting I feel compelled to look to a First Cause having an intelligent mind in some degree analogous to that of man; and I deserve to be called a Theist.

Seriously; I also do believe in God / that Jesus is the way AND think that evolution is a sound scientific concept. I tend to disagree with people who think that there is only one truth and believe that western culture's superiority and security, even salvation hinge on the ability to believe and yet at the same time use science as a tool. Churchill said it best:

I'm a libertarian. I want small government and free markets for all, even for those that don't think like me. If a gay hippie works for his money, he can spend it on solar cells and wind turbines or guns and rifles, for all I care. Thing is: I don't care, you leave me alone, I leave you alone. I think both big-government Republicans and Democrats are a pest on the US, because government overreach like the e.g. patriot act or the Poulson bailouts set the precedent that the Obama administration now uses.

The thing is: I came to FR because there are many intelligent Freepers here, and I LOVE tech. I like Bugatti Veyrons and F-22s, I like concentrated solar and nuclear fusion. But I do prefer Ron Paul and Bob Barr over Sarah Palin and Michele Bachman. So should I better be leaving? Because I'm an opinionated guy and don't want to pretend to be something I'm not. And I'm not really a fringe right-wing Christian fundamentalist.
