Free Republic is a fringe right-wing Christian fundamentalist site... or so they say... and they might even be right.
We don't go for any of that godless left-wing big government socialist malarkey. And we do put our faith and trust in God, not government. We are pro-God, pro-Life, pro-Family, pro-Country and pro-Liberty.
We do not believe that government or science knows what's best for us or our children. We will make our own decisions thank you very much.
Every once in a while some group of posters get together and try to bend Free Republic to their will. Now, we tend to be pretty free-wheeling around here and will take a lot of guff and a lot of obnoxious insults from a lot of people, but eventually a breaking point is reached.
For example, when a group of RINO lovers recently banded together to try to force FR to accept an abortionist/gay rights RINO as our presidential candidate, they soon found themselves on the outs.
And a few years ago a group of evolutionists tried to force FR over to their way of thinking and they soon found themselves on the outs.
FR is a pro-God, pro-Creator, pro-Life, pro-Liberty site.
And now we have yet another group of Darwinists trying to have their Darwinist way with us. Well, as I've said before what doesn't kill us will only make us stronger.
Darwin Central has again declared war on FR. They have ping lists and email lists and will try to pull away as many FReepers as they possibly can. So be it. Those who would rather go with Darwin, please go. I sure as hell won't try to stop you.
FR will remain a pro-God, pro-Life, pro-Liberty, pro-Creator conservative site.
We wholeheartedly believe that our unalienable rights are a gift from God our Creator not from man or government. And no man, no government will ever deprive us of same.
Keep your powder dry.
Let's look at a few FACTS:
1. Charles Darwin's cousin Francis Galton came up with the term "eugenics" and he was the founder of the "Eugenics Society" (it underwent several name changes).
2. The Eugenics Society was later run by Charles Darwin's son Leonard Darwin.
3. Charles Darwin's grandson Charles Galton Darwin was also a prominent eugenicist and he wrote a book called "The Next Million Years" which dealt with "Maltusian catastrophe".
4. Charles Darwin's granddaughter Margaret Elizabeth Darwin was married to the brother of John Maynard Keynes (another prominent eugenicist).
So, you can say what you want about eugenics but the FACTS are that the Darwin family has played an integral role in its development and promotion. And it is a FACT that their role coincided with an era when the entire world was able to watch the catostrophic results of eugenics unfold.
Now, perhaps you should go back and look at my posts. I very rarely if ever post about Charles Darwin or evolution. However, I do post quite often about the dangers of Darwinism and the FACT is that the Darwin family CANNOT be separated from eugenics no matter how much the evolutionists would like them to be.
As far as my "theological opposition" to anything, what are you even referring to?

What I fine interesting is anti groups will ask for proof or scripture than like Obama group they will not acknowledge.
They will start a new topic unrelated it is endless and never big enough to admit.

Just like Charles Darwin did not invent Natural Selection and Evolution, his family members did not invent eugenics. As abhorrent as eugenics has been when practiced, many in the 19th century associated with it for altruistic reasons.

MORMONS WON’T TELL YOU that they intend to have many wives in heaven, carrying on multiple sex relations throughout eternity, until they have enough children to populate their own earth, so they can be “Heavenly Father” over their own planet!
MORMONS WON’T TELL YOU that you were once a spirit - child of their heavenly father, and one of his numerous wives before you were born on earth.

MORMONS WON’T TELL YOU that their Prophet Joseph Smith did not die as a martyr as they claim, but was killed during a gun battle in which he himself killed two men and wounded a third.
MORMONS WON’T TELL YOU about the Mountain Meadows Massacre in which they brutally murdered an innocent wagon train of settlers, of over one hundred men, women, and most of the children, traveling through Utah.
MORMONS WON’T TELL YOU that Joseph Smith taught that there were inhabitants on the moon, and Brigham Young taught there were inhabitants on the sun as well!
WHY WON’T MORMONS TELL YOU THESE THINGS?
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, the Mormons, are well aware that if these facts were known to the convert prior to baptism, they would have very few converts! The Missionaries are well trained to keep most of these facts from their potential converts.
Tragically, many Mormons may not even be fully aware of the doctrines and history of their own church. Every statement on this tract is true. Mormons are encouraged to check out their own publications for documentation of the above. After all, if the Mormon Church (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints) has the truth, it can stand any amount of investigation.
Please do not be afraid to investigate. We are not Ex-Mormons, but Christians defending the Christian Church and its beliefs

What I find distressing is that on a site that we have been attracted to out of a common purpose and conservative bent so many spend so much time viciously exploring and magnifying our differences instead of trying to find the synergy that will help us defeat the really dangerous and evil elements in the world. When we have beaten them there will be plenty of time to resume beating each other.
In earlier posts on this thread I described my perception of steve-b as someone who loudly claimed to be Catholic and evolutionist in order to stir up trouble.
Unfortunately, in my mind people on the same side of various issues tend to blur together. Apparently this was not steve-b at all but someone else.
I apologize to you, to steve-b, and to everyone for this error.
That is probably the first time steve-b was mistaken for the Pope.
It prolly won't be the last. (BTW, you aren't the "other poster" I was referring to.)
The Darwin family did a lot more than "associate" with the eugenics movement. They STARTED the Eugenics Society and the society was run by the Darwin family and their closest associates (people like Keynes and Huxley) until the mid-20th Century.
