Free Republic is a fringe right-wing Christian fundamentalist site... or so they say... and they might even be right.
We don't go for any of that godless left-wing big government socialist malarkey. And we do put our faith and trust in God, not government. We are pro-God, pro-Life, pro-Family, pro-Country and pro-Liberty.
We do not believe that government or science knows what's best for us or our children. We will make our own decisions thank you very much.
Every once in a while some group of posters get together and try to bend Free Republic to their will. Now, we tend to be pretty free-wheeling around here and will take a lot of guff and a lot of obnoxious insults from a lot of people, but eventually a breaking point is reached.
For example, when a group of RINO lovers recently banded together to try to force FR to accept an abortionist/gay rights RINO as our presidential candidate, they soon found themselves on the outs.
And a few years ago a group of evolutionists tried to force FR over to their way of thinking and they soon found themselves on the outs.
FR is a pro-God, pro-Creator, pro-Life, pro-Liberty site.
And now we have yet another group of Darwinists trying to have their Darwinist way with us. Well, as I've said before what doesn't kill us will only make us stronger.
Darwin Central has again declared war on FR. They have ping lists and email lists and will try to pull away as many FReepers as they possibly can. So be it. Those who would rather go with Darwin, please go. I sure as hell won't try to stop you.
FR will remain a pro-God, pro-Life, pro-Liberty, pro-Creator conservative site.
We wholeheartedly believe that our unalienable rights are a gift from God our Creator not from man or government. And no man, no government will ever deprive us of same.
Keep your powder dry.
:^) PASSION! TRUTH!
They will hate and despise us anyway, but there are also undecided people - quite many of them, actually. Being associated with YECreationism hurts our credibility among those centrist/undecided segment. Imagine that 'creation science' gains some real traction, and without proper debunking create the impression of representing the entire conservatism. Then imagine that I want to talk to students about junk science used to support the global warming scare strategy. "What? This is coming from the guy who believes that Noah abandoned dinosaurs, and that's why they have gone extinct?"
Good Bible studies, and there are some out there that are “iffy”, are great at helping understand context.
There are also some free ones online but I am not really familiar with them.
If you are interested, freepmail me and I can give you a list of some other resources (online and print) that will help in your Bible reading.
Thanks! ( ^: }
Amen! Healing is there, go for it! May God’s Word be true and every man a liar.
That’s exactly what it is. When you hate evil, you can smell it when it comes near.
I am not pushing any propaganda. I am reacting, however to "I am a better Christian/conservative than you are" attitude, presented also, sadly, by the Founder in the discussed article. This attitude is completely unfounded, and if it is considered disrespectful to state it, so be it.
I don't know what thread you're reading that gives that impression but it wasn't this one.
JR is telling us what's going on and where he stands and what he's going to put up with (or not).
There is no hint of a holier than thou attitude. Nothing in what he said that portrays that attitude.
Methinks that you're being a little oversensitive. Projecting much, maybe♦?
Sorry. God did establish government. It’s in Genesis. He established government to institute the death penalty...
Yes, I answered you by citing the fact that Mississippi is well over 80% protestant and less than 5% Catholic (and the number of Orthodox Christians in Miss. is apparently so small it's under 1% and didn't make the list). Numerous other states in the bible have similar lopsided protestant margins that are around 90% protestant. South Carolina is 92% protestant and 6% Catholic. Tennessee is 87% and 5% Catholic. Apparently you choose to ignore my answer to your post because it confirmed my statements.
Your problem with FR has been solved.
Imagine that you're creating scenarios that are likely never going to happen and reacting to some figment of your imagination.
Oh, wait. We don't have to imagine that. It's already happening.
You're justifying your position based on some scenario that you are worried about happening that has zero chance of becoming reality ?
Do you always worry about things that you THINK might happen that MIGHT make you look bad?
Do you lay awake at night thinking these things up?
You called it.....
oops fer behemoth the cat, or whatever its name wuz...
busy jackin around on that oooollllddd thread and i didnt see this till 1300 post...just damn...
Relax you're in good company. I'm sure that's how the British dismissed the American colonist upstarts with their extreme notions of freedom. This is mainstream America. If they think we're "fringe" its because they've gone over the edge on the Marxist radical left.
Looks like you’ve finally gotten what you’ve been angling for all day long. Congratulations, you’re a make-believe martyr in your own mind.
Maybe you guys can out another sleeper screen name to post a whiney opus. Seems to be SOP.
