Was it me or did the refs give Texas a second chance after Texas QB Colt McCoy ran a play trailing by two points with only six seconds left, rolled out and threw the ball away and out of bounds as the clock ticked down to 0.00 and then the referee`s whistle blew.
Texas coach Mack Brown demanded an extra second to kick a field goal and the officials obliged him. Texas kicked the field goal and won the game.
I only saw the reply once with audio and clearly heard the official`s whistle blow after the clock showed 0.00 on the clock.
Nebraska got screwed.
>> 275 yds total offense won’t get it done against Alabama.
Huh? From what orifice did you pull that number?
Gerhart is a MAN -— good grief, if he was coming at me with a 5 yard head of steam I think I might politely step aside.
McCoy on the other hand .......
Oh... heh heh sorry, you’re right. I forgot the points-to-yards efficiency was so high in that blowout of a feared top-20 team.
Texas can kick your butt a LOT of different ways. :-)
Or are you going to tell me that it’s not possible for ‘Bama’s offense to screw up with a pick 6 or a turnover? Or allow a kick return for 6 — like Auburn did?
Texas beat USC! Pac-10 is 1-1 in Championship games with USC the ONLY team making the games.
The offense sucked. 275 total yards. It was the five turnovers that did it.
Yup. It should be TCU vs. Florida in that Sugar Bowl...or Orange Bowl, at a minimum. Instead, both teams are pushed down the ladder to play lesser teams. I hate this system.
Lots of plays are dead before the whistle blows. When a ball carrier’s knee hits the ground, the play is dead. If the ref waits three weeks to blow the whistle, it does not matter. The play is over when the knee hits the ground. Same idea here. If you have a rule that states differently, then quote it, and I’ll eat a nice plate of crow.
Could you be more specific.....you hate the longhorns?....think Colt in not in the running for the Heisman?.....think Shipley is not a finalist for the Biletnikoff award? Exactly what got your panties all in a wad?
You're right. The 6 big conferences do not want the TCU's & Boise State's of the college football world crashing their lucrative party. Pitting TCU & BSU against one another is the easiest way to marginalize them. One team loses and the other gets a win against a mid-major conference team. TCU-Cincy and BSU-Fla would be more interesting games, but the credibility they would give the little guys is more than the powers that be can risk.
Florida ditto.
What makes you think Texas has a shot against the number one team in the nation from the toughest conference in college football?
Yeah, and I bet Tennessee (from the “best conference”) would kill UCLA, one of the worst teams in the Pac-10.....right....LOL. And you probably think AJ Green is still in the running for the Biletnikoff award...right. LMAO

Nebraska could have helped their cause if they had an offense...

DING DING DING DING DING !!!!
We have a winner !!!!!
To see the Texas team come out in mass to celebrate the win just made my head shake. They were suppose to masacre NE by 3-4 touchdowns yet they had to have some LUCKY breaks and stupid NE mistakes to win.
Thank you....I left out the fact that the very same team that got owned by a low-level Pac-10 team really beat ‘Bama this year.....so much for the “best team in the best conference” BS.
Now that’s funny....I don’t care who you are!
I always find it amusing when someone attributes unexpressed thoughts to a person, then laughs at his own mind's construction...unless mental illness in involved, which is always a possibility.
Once again you have nothing to add to the discussion except an incoherent rambling post...thanks...LOL. Is Tennesse not in “the best conference”? is UCLA not a low level Pac-10 this year?....did UCLA not beat Tenn. this year?
