Sarah addresses amnesty, Huckabee and other issues! Enjoy
"No I am not for amnesty. Called Illegal for a reason. If they are not going to follow the rules they need to get out."

Nice sound bite, but let's see how the rubber meets the road. Two parts--How does she recommend we get them out? The millions that are already here, that is. And then, also, how does she plan on protecting the border. Without an actual proposal on accomplishing the idea, it's just talk.
I agree. And a proposal can be derided as nothing more than talk, so let's see what she will actually do in office.
Palin for President.
Then we can critique he ideas for real.
We already deport a few...very few. But if we up the heat just a little then many more will leave of their own accord.
(((PING)))
Ay, there's the rub. Nobody ever seems to have a solution for this.
Don’t let them earn a living, and they’ll leave.
What does the woman have to say about this issue?
That she is prepared to shoot all illegal immigrants.
C’mon folks-get a life. Sarah is not for the 2006 Amnesty bill; she’s for securing the borders, giving the border control the tools to do their job and telling illegals they are not welcome in America.
Sarah is not the enemy.
Hey don't knock it. Them's good eatin'.
Well I'm glad SOMEBODY on FR understands that.
"2) Sarah Palin is a private citizen, and can have an opinion just like the rest of us."
Well gee, man, thanks for clearing that up. Everybody on the same page now?
"3) Did you get banned from DU?"
That does seem like the most likely explanation for him expressing skepticism about Sarah Palin.
Well, yeah, that's the thing. What's the estimate these days? 20 million illegals? It's all well and good to say they should get out, but it seems like a logistical nightmare that would take Henry Ford, Dwight Eisenhower, and maybe toss in whoever built the Pyramids to actually pull off. Take the next step.....draw a picture, tell us how it gets done.
Palin for President
And here I was just being lectured by FrankR that is there no presidential campaign going on.
I think it's all well and good to say they should get out. But there's something like 20 million of them. Someone has to figure out how to actually make that happen, or else it's just appealing talk. Punish companies that hire them? Sweep out all the labor pools outside the Home Depots etc? Get the Immigration police to go full-on ATF and start raiding construction sights and restaurants, shaking down the kitchen help and bricklayers? How we gonna get em to leave?
How do you think they got here? A little at a time, we get rid of them by making it too difficult for them to stay.
You sound like a politician. “Uh, it’s just too hard to get rid of them” - hey, they got here, they can get back.
Dont let them earn a living, and theyll leave.
That would have to include eliminating all benefits such as medical, food assistance, schools, etc or they’d stay for that as opposed to going back to the nothing they had from whence they came. jmo.
The government will do it the same way Obama, Pelosi and Reid will fine and imprison 15 million Americans who will not buy Health Insurance... Proving once again government always finds away to do something if they really want to....
How?
You sound like a politician. Uh, its just too hard to get rid of them - hey, they got here, they can get back.
No. The politician is the one who issues the platitude without backing it up with a concrete plan. She stated her point of view, which is a nice first step. Now let's hear how it would be accomplished.
If it's so easy, why don't you explain how it's going to be accomplished.
Which raises the question: Does the government want to get rid of the 20 million illegals? It seems clear to me a majority of the government want them to stay. I'm not even sure a majority of Republicans want them to leave. It's easy to say you want them to. Let's see them do it. The efforts of the GOP==nevermind the DEMs---has been running in the other direction for quite some time now.
And it seems to me that the monied interests that line the pockets of our politicians are in favor of having them stay as well, and why not? Cheap labor! So how to get them out? That's the question.
How? They walked across the border, they can walk back.
The 2nd question is the easiest, fine and jail employers who use illegal labor. There are already laws in place, they just don’t use them. If it costs more to have an illegal working for you than for an American, companies will hire American’s. It’s all about the almight dollar, that’s why people hire illegals in the first place. If you’re going to jail if you get caught (my favorite) then you will make sure your I-9 is filled out correctly and use everify.
That's nonsensical and smart alecky. Is someone going to escort them? How will we know they've actually left? What about those who didn't walk across, but got here some other way, overstaying a visa, for example? They're going to walk to Paraguay? Don't we want to confirm that they've left? There are obvious logistical issues to be addressed if anyone is serious about it, which I doubt.
The 2nd question is the easiest, fine and jail employers who use illegal labor.
Which one? Fine? Jail? or Both? Who enforces it? Do we have adequate manpower to get it done? How long will it take? There will be costs associated with it. How to pay for it?
Its all about the almight dollar, thats why people hire illegals in the first place.
That's part of the reason. But it's also the amount of work illegals do. You ever picked fruit professionally? I have, and let me tell you, I'd like to see the white man that can keep up with them little bastards. They'll work 14 hours, go to sleep in a little shack, and do it again the next day, working at farms and orchards far away from populated areas.
Likewise in restaurants. You ever work in a kitchen? I have, and again, those bastards work HARD. Long hours, no complaining. A lot of these guys are excellent workers. I've worked with em.
All that said, I say they should go, too. I'd just like to hear a politician get beyond the sentiment and start talking about how it actually gets done. Let em come back legally.
