Iran Is Very Close To Having A Nuclear Warhead

Uh oh.
"German intelligence reports that Iranian scientists have successfully simulated the detonation of a nuclear warhead in laboratory conditions, in an effort to sidestep an underground nuclear test like the one that brought the world down on North Korea's head earlier this year," the website Debka reports.
From Debka:
DEBKAfile's Iranian and intelligence sources report that this development is alarming because detonation is one of the most difficult technological challenges in the development of a nuclear weapon. Mastering it carries Iran past one of the last major obstacles confronting its program for the manufacture of a nuclear warhead.
After this breakthrough, the German BND intelligence believes it will take Tehran no more than a year to perfect its expertise and stock enough highly-enriched uranium to make the last leap toward building the first Iranian nuclear bomb or warhead. DEBKAfile's military sources confirm that simulated detonation of a warhead takes Iran to the highest level of weapons development.
More details at Debka.

I would take anything from Debka with more than a few grains of salt. They are known to tend toward sensational headlines with lightly-sourced content. That said, there is overwhelming evidence that Iran is working tirelessly to develop nuclear weapons, and may well do so in advance of international intelligence estimates.

Well, it is coming to a head. I hope we reach a safe and successful outcome for the US, Israel and the West, and soon.

Oh I see I don’t know anything about Debka I just found the article on the business insider and figured if they posted it may have some merit.

As a comarison:
The GDP of the state of Alabama and Iran are the same. Imagine Alabama spending the money necessary to build an atomic bomb.

DEBKAfile is an Israeli internet news source with strong intelligence ties and regional expertise in Middle East affairs. I have visited their site for a few years now, and while they do appear to possess some good sources, I have observed that they sometimes tend toward a sensationalistic style that draws conclusions in advance of full evidence.
They may not be wrong about this particular story, but I'd advise a bit of caution. On the other hand, you can believe virtually nothing you read in the New York Times these days, so maybe we're better off taking Debka's word. ;-)

An EMP in Your Future
EMPOur Flemish correspondent VH has translated a series of reports from the Dutch media about the frightening possibility that Iran will use nuclear weapons to create a catastrophic electromagnetic pulse (EMP) over the coast of Europe as well as over the United States.

this website has about the same level of credibility as The Weekly World News. Or Dan Rather Reports on that HD cable channel.
To: FromLori
The powers that be are looking to a test from Iran as the sign that their weapons program has matured. This is a very dangerous position to take ,in that Iran is using the Paki warhead design that has been tested by Pakistan. ( and most likely North Korea)
The only thing that Iran has to do is confirm their firing sequence, and that is most likely what is being discussed in the article.
Iran's “test” could come as a blinding flash somewhere in Israel.
If Israeli Intel thing they have done what this article proposes , the IAF will be flying VERY SOON
