Boxer: Hacked 'Climategate' emails may face criminal probe By Michael O'Brien - 12/02/09 03:26 PM ET
Leaked emails allegedly undermining climate change science should be treated as a criminal matter, Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) said Wednesday.
Boxer, the top Democrat on the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, said that the recently-released emails, showing scientists allegedly overstating the case for climate change, should be treated as a criminal matter.
"You call it 'Climategate,' I call it 'E-mail-theft-gate,'" she said during a committee meeting on Wednesday. "Whatever it is, the main issue is are we facing global warming or are we not. I'm looking at these emails, that, even though they were stolen, are now out in the public."
The emails, from scientists at the University of East Anglia, were obtained through email hacking. The messages showed the director of the university's Climate Research Unit discussing ways to strengthen the unit's case for global warming. Climate change skeptics have seized on the e-mails, arguing that they demonstrate manipulation in environmental science.
Boxer said her committee may hold hearings into the matter, as its top Republican, Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.), has asked, but that a criminal probe would be part of any such hearings.
"We may well have a hearing on this, we may not. We may have a briefing for senators, we may not," Boxer said. "Part of our looking at this will be looking at a criminal activity which could have well been coordinated."
"This is a crime," Boxer said.
If anyone ever deserved a vicious caning on the floor of the Senate it would be the bitch from the failed socialist state of California.

Sen Idiot does not realize, that, if the Climategate e-mails are probed as a “criminal matter” against those who hacked or leaked the e-mails.....those e-mails will become more available to the public and the media....which would totally embarrass the Global Warmists even more
Of course, Sen. Idiot has no jurisdiction in the matter if those e-mails were hacked outside the USA.
Sen Inhofe has the better idea....and I think Sen Idiot knows that the lid is totally off the Global Warming Hoax
The “whistleblower” is a hero only if it furthers the leftist agenda.

If one reads between the lines, it is fairly clear that what Senator Boxer wants to do is find the employee who let this information out, and hang him/her on public television, and on the internet, and then take his corpse to Copenhagen to put it on public display.
My dog won’t even admit he’s part Boxer anymore. He says he’s a Golden Retriever. If he’s challenged on that, he will only admit that there was some sort of “pugilist” in his background.
People of her ilk didn’t mind the publication by the New York Times of the classified Pentagon Papers.
Well it seems to me that Boxhead is admitting that the fraud was going on...she is just peod that her donors and GW/CC fraudster that have destroyed Calif. are soon to be unemployed.
I wonder what she would have said if emails from Bush were stolen saying something like “Hey Dick, get a rid of that data of Saddam destroying his weapons of mass destruction for our report. Be sure to delete this message!”
Talk about biased reporting. In other news, Nixon was just "discussing ways" to strengthen his chances for reelection. Depending on what you're discussing, "discussing ways" is a euphemism for "conspiracy."
