President Barack Obama ... ... is slated to deliver a prime-time address on Tuesday night in which he'll lay out his plans for the American war in Afghanistan.
The address before the United States Military Academy at West Point on Tuesday night will not only be used to announce the immediate order to deploy roughly 30,000 more troops, but the administration will also use the occasion to convey how it intends to turn the fight over to the Kabul government, the New York Times reported.
But the administration may also face an unforeseen enemy as it lays out its long-awaited plans. And they are loud and they are legion: We're talking about preschoolers and their parents.
That's because ABC-TV was scheduled to present its annual screening of "A Charlie Brown Christmas" at 8 p.m. tomorrow night. And we don't know about you, but that show is pretty sacrosanct around our house and not to be trifled with lightly.
A call to the White House may be in order here. We hear it's pretty easy to get through these days ...

For the same reason that I often end up on a secular music station after checking every Christian station I have pre-set. So much Christian contemporary is not only aesthetically displeasing to me, it sounds like half of it is performed by the same male rock band and the other half is all performed by the same semi-folksy female pop singer. The content is awesome compared to secular music, but I just can't get into it.
I can sure see that happening with a cartoon show.

Whats next... a -13bama speech on top of a showing of Heidi? Actually, they would cut away from the climactic ending of the Obama speech (running long again) so Heidi could begin on time.

Zero should have preempted the Rankin Bass Rudolph.........HATE the Rudolph! You're a horrid person.
I came this close to taking Yukon Cornelius as my Freeper handle.

Worse than preempting Charlie Brown, President Obambi is causing a delay in the airing of NCIS. Not that I can watch NCIS when it comes on, but it’s the principle involved.

Anyone done an analysis of TV time “taken” by presidents in the last several decades? Seems to me that Obammi has forced his face on the public more times in his first 10 months than most have been on in a full term.
Obama is such a narcissist. I thought Bill Clinton was bad...always wanting to be the center of attention. But Zero (The One) has really taken self-love to a whole new and disgusting level.

Same plotline. Obowmao will eventually yank the football away before the troops can win in Afghanistan.

You know, I’m not trying to tear down folks who appreciate CB. To me the repetitive music, the little skirmishes that just aren’t interesting to me, Lucy’s dismissive attitude with regard to CB, it’s just grating. I don’t think you have to be a ding dong to like it at all. It’s just not for me.
As for him being one of us, well perhaps so. And if so then I’m a lot more annoying that I thought I was. Now perhaps we’re on to something, my recognition of myself in there somewhere, and realizing how annoying I must be. LOL
Hey, you take care.

Glad to...and my mission certainly wasn’t “get Doghtyone back on the same page,” I thought your opinion was quite valid and I was just making conversation.
But yeah, in a world where the average cartoon is about aliens at best and how great Wicca and living like a primitve to stop global warming are at worst, a show like this one is a nice change.

I think that’s another interesting observation. The comparison works for me. I identify with your thoughts on the music too.
There are some incredible Christmas songs and music out there, but it seems like they aren’t played as much as the candy apple versions. Too bad.

"I am not a Charlie Brown fan. Frankly the whole concept gives me the hives. Just about anything that would keep him off the tube is fine with me."
"For the Charlie Brown fans, sorry folks. Take your little blankey over in the corner and pout."

and theres a semi-investigation on the chitlin party crashers Heard they knew members of the Obama administration and may belong to a pro-Palestinian/anti-Israel activist group.
There has been a reluctance in the Obama administration to leave a paper trail of just WHO is visiting the president. Perhaps the names were not listed because they weren't to be "tracked" later.

I’ll give my 4 yr old your regards. Good thing you’re only thinking about yourself.
To: DoughtyOne
I see. So what you are saying is because you don't like Charlie Brown(or peanuts, which is the correct name for the cartoons and funnies)then everyone should suffer by not getting to watch it. You can always exercise your free will and simply not watch any peanuts related showings when they are on(which is about twice a year), instead you think that showing Bozo's ugly frickin' mug on TV, once again, is just great because now you don't have to watch Charlie Brown and the crew, which you didn't have to do anyway.
What a dumb a** person you are, not to mention mean spirited and evil, not because you don't like Peanuts but because you are happy Bozo is on and Peanuts isn't. Makes a person want to puke.

I think I see what you mean: It's too "goodie-goodie" for your taste? How do you feel about programs like Andy Griffith? I can't stomach shows like Leave It To Beaver for that reason (the goodie-goodie factor). But AG is different in my opinion. I try to forget what Andy Griffith and Ron Howard are like today.
Warning: if you're a big fan of the Andy Griffith Show like I am, this video clip of "Opie" and "Andy" endorsing Obama and his Marxist "Change" agenda will surely sicken you...
