I have had disdain for Mike Huckabee for a long time. His weak kneed faux conservative views are sickening. Now he has had a hand in allowing a killer out on the streets when there was no reason to provide clemency for Clemmons. There were no mistakes in his case, yet Huckabee took it upon himself to free this thug with the thought that Clemmons received his 95-year sentence when he was young.
Huckabee is now scrambling to cover up his part in freeing Clemmons blaming it on the justice system and not on his own weak spine. As for Clemmons, he is scrambling too. Two pea in a pod...
Then there's the Washington state justice department, a typical liberal state, who thought it was a good idea to allow Clemmons to have bond set. he quickly came up with the $15,000 needed to secure a $150,000 bail and walked with only an ankle bracelet on. The bracelet was later found cut off. Four officers are dead, the public is at risk and many families are destroyed. This story sums up the bleeding heart mentality - and its results - in a nutshell.
Clemmons has an extensive violent criminal history in Arkansas. He also recently was arrested and charged in Washington State for assaulting a police officer, and second-degree rape of a child. Using a bail bondsman, he posted $150,000 -- only $15,000 of his own money -- and was released from jail last week.
...
Clemmons, 37, who had a lengthy prison sentence commuted by former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee nearly a decade ago, became the prime target Sunday in the search for the killer of Lakewood Police Sgt. Mark Renninger, 39; and Officers Ronald Owens, 37; Tina Griswold, 40; and Greg Richards 42.
...On Sunday, Huckabee deflected blame with a statement on his Web site.
"Should he be found to be responsible for this horrible tragedy, it will be the result of a series of failures in the criminal justice system in both Arkansas and Washington State," he wrote.
Note he doesn't state the series of failures that he is responsible for, like letting this criminal with a 95-year sentence free on society.
Isnt it odd that the day theat he said he wont run for President is the day this scumbag blows up four cops.
Can anyone provide a time frame as to when he made the announcment and these police were killed?
Huckabee is technically an R but really a Liberal with misplaced compassion.
Cops lives are worth more. The police are societies ‘machine’ to curb and track down criminals.
As such, their position makes their lives worth more. Not specific policemen, but the role.
For example, the President’s life is guarded with a greater ferocity than us ordinary blokes, and for the same reason.
That was really dumb of Huckabee.
Apologies to Mike...
Always thought that Huckabee was creepy ... now I know why. Doesn’t he look a bit like Kevin Spacey???
“Always thought that Huckabee was creepy...”
Used car salesman and morticians often elicit that reaction.
They are NOT. They are people just like you. They accept the risks with the job.
As such, their position makes their lives worth more.
They are not. A homeowner defending his property has a life worth less than a cop?
I think not.
The police are societies machine to curb and track down criminals.
So far as I have seen, they will file a report that is of value only to your insurance company.
They are not gunslingers or heroes.
Not true at all.
Gov Huckabee did not release the man suspected of killing 4 law enforcement officers. He commuted the suspect’s sentence in 2000 from 108 years to 47 years in prison. With a sentence of 47 years, an intervening party - a parole board - could decide whether he should be paroled or not. Huckabee did NOT set him free and did not parole him - but merely made it possible for him to be reviewed by others to make that decision. The now cop killer suspect was reviewed and paroled. He then violated parole. He was returned to prison in 2004. Some time later (I am not yet sure why), he was again paroled.
It doesn’t matter if he is left, or right, or center.
Decisions have consequences.
His decision to release this man cost four innocent people their lives.
Hind sight?
Where was his fore sight?
He has blood on his hands, that is all there is to it, period, end of story.
He looks like Gomer Pyle.
Heeeey, you have something there ... I knew he looked familiar ..... you sure it ain’t Gomer all growed up?
So, you are saying that without Gomer’s intervention, he would still be serving his 108 year sentence.
Thanks for the clarification.
I do wonder of they are not related. The resemblance os just uncanny.
Huckabee is not finished in politics. He does appeal to a sizable demographic in GOP primaries - elderly evangelicals. This demographic will vote for Huckabee soley because he is a Baptist minister. Sort of like Mormon support for Romney. As long as Identity politics are being practiced, Romney and Huckabee shall be contenders in the 2012 primary.
Well, I must admit I never thought he looked creepy but...I think he looked more like Gomer Pyle. Remember that show?
