The man wanted in this morning's shooting deaths of four Washington State police officers was granted clemency by then-Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee nine years ago.

Agreed. The good news is that if he runs again, he'll be splitting the RINO vote in the primaries instead of the conservative vote. Not to be flippant about this horrible crime but, in a small way, the officers didn't die in vain because this is likely Huckleberry's "stick a fork in him" moment among conservatives.
For the rape of a child he should NEVER have been in society on bail. Stupid & dangerous judge.
Hell must be full of judges ;-)
Look at the guys record. It appears he was born evil and lived his life as a criminal every chance he got. If Huck hadn’t let him out, this guy wouldn’t have been able to rape a child or kill these LEO. Yes, Washington State messed up also, but he’d still be sitting in jail right now had Huck not decided he knew was was best.
Probably because he played guitar in the prison band.
Ouch that’s gonna leave a mark.
He was sentenced to 60 years and commuted after 11!
Huckabee has blood on his hands....no other way to say it.
I compltetely disagree.
He had multiple felonies then and has continued to get them.
The only reason to free a violent felon is if there was no way that person was guilty.
The Huckster instead wanted to show how stupidly compassionate he could be.
These deaths are on his shoulders.
“Completely,” that is.
When Clemmons received the 60-year sentence, he was already serving 48 years on five felony convictions and facing up to 95 more years on charges of robbery, theft of property and possessing a handgun on school property. Records from Clemmons' sentencing described him as 5-foot-7 and 108 pounds. The crimes were committed when he was 17.
Clemmons served 11 years before being released.
There's quite a bit more at the link, regarding Clemmons' behavior during trial, etc., that illustrates why, by any rational standard, he was not a good candidate for release into society nine years ago, regardless of the additional mistakes made since then.
Huckabee was very aware of what kind of Russian Roulette game he was playing by letting these turds out on the street. But why should he care, he and his family was always protected in some way. By where they lived, where they went to school, where they worked or by their own private or public security people.
People that attain high office like Huckabee and others will continue to let bad guys out to harm more people until the day that one of the bad guys finally gets to someone like Huckabee and does what this guy did to those poor police officers. If that ever happens then this kind of thing will stop.
Odd.
Folks if Armed Robbery, one of the crimes for which Clemons was imprisoned was a true life sentence, then crime would go down immensely.
I have met reformed thieves, I have met reformed drug dealers, but I have NEVER met a reformed armed robber or child rapist. They cannot be reformed or rehabilitated.
Our judges have a duty to put these people away forever in order to spare society atrocities just like this one. It’s well past time we hold them accountable for this as well as weak legislators.
If Huckabee had just been a regular conservative, he would be in a much stronger position now. As it was, he courted so many Democrats that he left the GOP in AR in its weakest position since 1971-1981. He must be a sucker for Democrat “hard luck” stories. I don’t think he will have much impact if he runs in 2012.
I think it would be more informative to find out who raised the POS and then made the deposit onto society with him
lets just hope Huckabee keeps his word on this and not run.
he makes a good case for abortion
agreed.
I remember the attacks which were directed at those who pointed out this stuff and how he looks at immigration.
Course when I pointed out that maybe some voters were voting for him because of his religious background then that was it.
attack attack attack
