Tiger Woods said Elin Nordegren, not car crash, scratched face & chased him with golf club

Tiger Woods was injured early Friday morning outside his Florida home when his car struck a fire hydrant, then crashed into a tree.

Tiger Woods, bolting his Florida mansion after a reported late-night fight with his wife, was found dazed and bleeding Friday after plowing his SUV into a fire hydrant and a tree.

The world's No. 1 golfer was pulling out of his driveway at 2:25 a.m. when he double-bogeyed the getaway in his 2009 Cadillac Escalade, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Wife Elin Nordegren heard the crash from inside the couple's $2.4 million home and went to her spouse's aid, police said.

The one-time Swedish model grabbed a golf club, smashed out a rear window in the SUV and helped Woods out of the wreck, said Windermere Police Chief Daniel Saylor.

But TMZ.com reported that a source said Nordegren scratched Woods' face after she went berserk over reports he was seeing another woman and chased him with a golf club, striking his vehicle as he ran from the home.

The Web site said the source talked to Woods after the smashup.

The crash came on the heels of reports in the National Enquirer and Star magazine that Woods had an affair with a New York nightclub hostess - who denied it last night to the Daily News.

Nordegren told cops she ran outside and discovered her husband bleeding from the mouth, with cuts on his lips, police said. She said she bashed out the rear window with the club and helped the 6-foot-1, 185-pound Woods out of the car.

Police arrived to find Woods, drifting in and out of consciousness, lying in the street with his wife watching over him, Saylor said. He was taken to a nearby hospital about 10 minutes later.

Cops said alcohol was not involved, but offered no explanation for where the world's richest athlete was headed alone in the middle of the night.

Woods and Nordegren live in the Isleworth neighborhood with their two children, 2-year-old Sam and 9-month-old Charlie.

The accident was part of a rough week for Woods, who is on the front page of this week's Enquirer under the headline "Tiger Woods Cheating Scandal."

The tabloid claimed Woods was having an affair with Rachel Uchitel - a sexy Manhattan hostess who lost a fiancé in the World Trade Center on 9/11 and was previously linked to married television star David Boreanaz.

Uchitel, a former party planner who has worked as a VIP hostess at swanky nightspots, denied it in a message sent to The News from her Facebook account.

"There is NO relationship with tiger these girls quoted in the story are not being truthful," she wrote.

"I resent my name being slung thru the mud."

The Enquirer story - and a similar story in Star - quoted a woman named Ashley Samson and said she was friends with Uchitel and passed a polygraph.

"I did not say those things to those 'sources' and im not friends with ashley simpson or whatever her name is," Uchitel insisted.

Woods had no comment beyond a statement that downplayed the accident.

"Tiger Woods was in a minor car accident outside his home last night," it read. "He was admitted, treated and released in good condition. We appreciate very much everyone's thoughts and well wishes."

Woods, 33, was taken by ambulance to Health Central Hospital in Ocoee after the crash, about a half-mile off the main drag in Windermere, just west of Orlando.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers went to Woods' home last night to talk to the golfer, but were turned away by Nordegren who said her husband was resting. She asked them to return today and they agreed, spokeswoman Kim Montes told the Orlando Sentinel.

His neighbors in the tree-lined development, with its private golf course and small lakes, include NBA star Shaquille O'Neal.

Police said the air bags on the 2009 Escalade did not deploy, meaning Woods was likely driving slower than 33 mph.

The crash remains under investigation and charges are possible against Woods, who has avoided public controversy in his stellar career. Woods owns 14 major championships, the second-highest total in golfing history, and earns more than $100 million annually from golf and his endorsement deals. He has captured 82 victories worldwide.

Last Saturday, Woods handled the coin toss before the California-Stanford football game. At halftime, the Stanford alum - accompanied by his wife - was inducted into his alma mater's sports Hall of Fame.

That's actually a fascinating insight. Rather shows the difference; they love, cherish and care about and then proceed to use other women as toys.

Yes, at one time the National Hockey League was regularly broadcast Saturday nights in Canada and the USA. In the intermission there were recorded interviews at some players happy home. Nothing more than unpaid commercials for hockey. The was one famous player with a knock out wife and the usual two pedigree dogs. He was shown playing floor hockey in the summer with his kids.

When he came to the old adopted home town of mine in Ontario, he made small talk with a waitress and then said "you can come up to my hotel room" and I have it the man was serious. Recently an enforcer for the Toronto Maple Leafs with bruiser written on his face, was caught in New York with the very slim blonde politician of the Liberal Party.

His wife sued for divorce- I believe. It is all the phoney baloney publicity that is put out re sports idol's perfect lives, that sort of gets under the skin.

Tiger Woods & wife, Elin Nordegren, keep cops at bay; refuse to speak for 2nd straight day

Florida state troopers tried to grab the Tiger by his tale Saturday - only to find the world’s greatest golfer still wasn’t speaking about his curious late-night car crash.

The Florida Highway Patrol was told Woods and his wife were unavailable to investigators who hoped to grill the $100 million-a-year man about his smash-up with a fire hydrant and tree.

Exclusive: Tiger Woods’ Mother-in-Law Addresses Rumors to Us

“This is a private family matter,” Olmberg told Us. “I’m praying for everyone and everything to be OK. Please let’s just leave it at that.”

Olmberg’s take on Tiger’s alleged affair with Rachel Uchitel? “You seem to know more than enough already,” she told Us. “There is enough for them to handle already. Please can you give everyone space.”

As for supposed mistress, Rachel Uchitel, she denied any wrongdoing to Usmagazine.com, saying “I did not have an affair with Tiger Woods ... I met him twice and have not heard from him since.”

Thanks for the information. A quite decent bit of factual reporting, I think. My eye caught this:

"No criminal charges likely" or close to it.

May the man's luck hold.

According to the Associated Press, his agent contacted authorities on Saturday as they were en route to his home and asked them to wait another day before speaking with him. It was the second straight day that Woods avoided authorities, but a spokeswoman for the Florida Highway Patrol told AP that he is not obligated to speak to them since the matter being investigated is a traffic accident.

Friday at 2:28 a.m., a neighbor of the Woodses was awakened by the sound of the crash and called 911, according to Jim Solomons, a spokesman for the Orange County sheriff’s office. Mr. Solomons said the man, whose name hasn’t been released, walked out of his home and saw Mr. Woods on the ground and visibly injured.

Mr. Solomons said the recording of the 911 call reveals that the neighbor “wanted help” and told the 911 operator that “there’s a man on the ground.”

A transcript of the 911 recording shows that the caller said Mr. Woods appeared to be unconscious but breathing as he lay beside his black Cadillac Escalade. Police arrived at 2:33 a.m.

Windermere Police Chief Daniel Saylor said in an interview that one of his officers found Mr. Woods lying on the ground beside his vehicle and his wife crouched over him. Mr. Woods had lacerations on his face and was semiconscious, according to Mr. Saylor. He said the officer was providing first aid to Mr. Woods when he noticed broken glass on the ground from the vehicle’s window and asked his wife about it.

“She said, ‘I had to take a golf club and break the window to get him out,’” the police chief said. He said a window was broken at the rear of the SUV but that he couldn’t explain exactly how Ms. Woods managed to remove her husband.

In response to media reports that a domestic dispute between the Woodses may have preceded the accident, Mr. Solomons, the sheriff’s office spokesman, said authorities found no such evidence.

“I’ve not got even the slightest information that the Woodses were in any kind of a tiff,” he said.

As for Tiger, most believe he is on the juice (or was at some point).

I've been saying that for years and have been threatened with banning...amazing. Tiger started off looking like the waterboy and now looks like an NFL outside linebacker.

The most common Freeper argument is that he has to much "Integrity and Character to resort to cheating".

How does that argument hold up now Tiger worshippers?

Rachel Uchitel once worked as a television producer for Bloomberg, and she also managed the VIP action at the most successful clubs in Las Vegas and in New York.

Tiger and Rachel met, when Uchitel was working as an event planner and the director of VIP Operations for the Big Apple hotspot Griffin, Ashley Sampson, a friend of Rachel, revealed that Woods first flirted with Rachel by offering to show her a “good golf grip.”, (Dec. 7 of Star Magazine)

Another tabloid, The Enquirer, reported that they have photos of Uchitel entering Tigers hotel in Melbourne, while he played there in the Australian Masters. The tabloid also said that the two met in New York and Las Vegas.

1998, when America was celebrating Sosa and McGwire I told anyone that would listen that those guys were jacked to the moon.....

Everyone wants proof, proof, show me a picture of him sticking a needle in his arm or you can’t say it, blah blah blah.

I know what I know, I know what you can do with your body without drugs and there is a limit, no matter how well fueled or how intense you work out, drugs change everything, they work and they work FANTASTICALLY. Anyone in the NFL NOT using drugs is at a major disadvantage, clean guys are the exception and you have to be stupid to get caught.

They always show you the side by side stick figure Barry Bonds and the “filled out” Barry Bonds. To coin a phrase he FUNDAMENTALLY changed his body. The former stick figure Tiger Woods now looks like an NFL strong safety. You think he’s the only guy on tour who lifts weights????????? No, he’s not, guys have been lifting weights for a long, long, time.

The “new” body type is accepted with the nonsense of superior nutrition, year round workouts......it’s all a cover story for the drugs. Human evolution hasn’t marched forward 400 generations in the past 40 years, it’s the drugs and ONLY the drugs that have changed. Steroid bodies are MARKETED in movies, commercials, sports and most people don’t think they’re steroid bodies, they just accept that’s what “modern athletes” look like now. It’s all a sham.

Your post #251 on much of the sports scene.

It's all a sham.

Often the perceptive person can spot something well before the main stream of the general public can. Sports writers are often perceptive, but dare not risk their jobs. True this may be a bit off from the topic of Wood's accident- unless steroids played a part in that.

Years ago, a college football player, Canadian born was picked up for over $4 million dollars. Rumours spread, he was wall to wall muscle and nearly 300 1bs in weight. I saw a magazine article of Canadian origin. It showed him at the super market with 4 shopping carts full of food. This "explained" his weight. I spotted his lower legs and saw serious flaws. Yes, the team lost over $ 4 million on his playing record. Years after steadfast denials of anabolic steroid usage, he has admitted he used the stuff.

I used Google and got:

STEROID NATION BLOG

The important question for me is - does steroid usage hurt personal relationships? Secondly are people aware of the perils of usage.

Steroids do have a strong psychological effect, it’s kind of addictive when you feel you can pull tree trunks out of the ground (and almost can) it becomes a crutch, they want to feel totally jacked, totally in control. Ego’s can get out of control, knowing how powerful you are and what you can do to people, it’s not simple roid rage, it just kind of happens when guys with big egos, get really big and really would love to show you that they can pop your head like a pimple, there’s a definite raised aggression factor. Even guys who don’t do drugs and lift a lot can get that attitude.

Most people are aware of the dangers, you can use them moderately safely, but there’s always the temptation to do more, cycle more often, mostly because they work so damn good. They work in every sport and not everyone winds up looking like Barry Bonds. The body building culture is big into the recreational drugs as well. I know some folks who did a paper in the New England Journal of Medicine about steroids as a gateway to opiate addiction, etc.

I know a consultant to the NFL. Pretty much the story is in the NFL if you ask the rep for each team how much is used, they say it’s an epidemic at least 75 %, but when you ask how many on your team, oh, none, lol. I guess they kind of have to say that, but you get the picture, it’s the biggest open secret in the world.
