Free Republic does not and will not support RINOS!! Not now!! Not ever!!
My day after Thanksgiving message | 11/26/200 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 11/26/2009 9:55:25 PM PST by Jim Robinson

Apparently there are still some posters on FR who are fast asleep. Wake up! Dammit! We are in the middle of a conservative rebellion! While you were sleeping we, along with millions of other freedom loving grassroots Americans have participated in hundreds of tea parties all across this great land and fully intend to keep it up until all of America is awake. We are fed up and mad as hell! We grassroots Americans are delivering a message to the ruling class: NO MORE!!

No more big government! No more high taxes! No more government bailouts! No more government takeovers! No government healthcare! No more corruption! No more global baloneyism!!

We're sick and tired of liberals and RINOs running roughshod over our God given Liberty!

We want our country back! We want our freedom back! We want it all back!!

No more socialism!!

Cut the taxes! Cut the spending! Cut the government!

Restore the constitutional limits on government! Restore our freedom!!

And not only no, but HELL NO to liberals and RINOS!!

Free Republic will not support RINOS!! Rudy McRomney, et al, can go straight to hell!!

The strategy is we win, they lose.

Any questions?

“Standing on your core values and convictions and having no quarter for compromise can not be viewed as being weak to win a war.”

This is fun, and too easy. Read my posts. I’m not arguing for moving left, as one poster just accused me of saying, or of compromising any core values or convictions.

I am simply saying that the most effective tack is to engage RINOs in the marketplace of ideas.

I advocate Reaganesque optimism, City on a Hill, and all that.

With all due respect, Jim Robinson is making a mistake here. There are soooo many people lurking on this site who are not conservatives. They are RINOs, they are newbies, they are even Democrats who are curious.

Blasting every contrarian poster is counterproductive. Posting emails that say that anyone who fails one conservative litmus test or another can go to hell hurts the cause. This is all a mistake.

The right email would have evangelized. It would have said ... There are many millions of people who we could bring to this site and educate and who are desparate and hungry for a different vision. These are people who may not be fully on board right now. We must be patient. We must be warm and welcoming. We must patiently rebut wrongheaded ideas. We must leverage this site to its greatest effect.

We must abide their ignorance and welcome even the most foolish and uninformed views, because that is how we turn the tide.

If I were Jim Robinson, that’s the email I would have written.

This is a great site. It is way, way, way too insular and cold to outsiders. And I write this as a conservative, as a long time FR member and poster, and in the best spirit of getting results.

You misunderstand. This is not a Republican site and the mission statement clearly says so. That's what Darksheare is trying to tell you.

Statement by the founder of Free Republic

In our continuing fight for freedom, for America and our constitution and against totalitarianism, socialism, tyranny, terrorism, etc., Free Republic stands firmly on the side of right, i.e., the conservative side.

90 million eligible voters stayed home in 2008...if a CONSERVATIVE candidate could have harvested 10% of that total; Obama might not be in the White House right now. (Remember...many conservatives stayed home.)

If that was the case, I hope those conservatives pray for forgiveness of their actions every day. This country would be much better off RIGHT NOW if we had McCain rather than Obama sitting in the White House.

Does that mean I supported McCain? No. It means I would rather have McCain in the Oval Office than Obama. There was no other viable choice, and sitting out handed us Obama.

In the battle against socialism, you take your victories where you can; sometimes you can push back socialism (Reagan), other times you may just have a chance to stall it (what we had with McCain). You don't win by laying down your arms and surrendering or walking off the battle field.

Nevermind, I found your post on another thread...but I’d still like the link, just to put it in context. “Lou Dobbs | Now: we need the ability to legalize illegal immigrants under certain conditions... What isn’t working is a penalty to those who are in this country illegally... “Legalize illegal immigrants under certain conditions” is supporting Amnesty.

Link with YouTube Video

...the GOP and it’s money will decide who the Republican’s CFR candidate is.

I don't agree at all. The statist global media pushes the RINO presidential candidates...and then they get you to blame the GOP.

Mike Pence or John Thune in 2012.

In my opinion, they are our best candidates right now.

I see. So you believe having McCain in the White House would be worse than having Obama?

Fine. You can all preach to each other and shout down everyone who isn’t pure. That’ll get you exactly ... uh ... nowhere. Are the RINOs who come on and post on this site all that disruptive? Weak, weak, weak.

And where did the support of RINOs get us?

Highest debt in nations history.

And on and on and on!

Weak? LOL Ya your arguements are.

There are soooo many people lurking on this site who are not conservatives. They are RINOs, they are newbies, they are even Democrats who are curious.

And most people don't get the chance to hear Conservatives talking to Conservatives. If they did they would feel quite comfortable here, I'm sure.

If we instead spend all of our time debating the virtues of Conservatism then we will be no different and certainly no better than any other site. We will be lukewarm and will be spat out. The visitors deserve to see how true Conservatives discuss the issues among themselves rather than see a "fair and balanced" food fight between Conservatism and liberalism.

We need to compile a listing of RINO’s by name, and state.

I know there would be a war on some of those names, but the job has to be done.

I’m limited by time, and this damned dial up. We live in the sticks, and haven’t any access to high speed internet which I would love to have to participate here in more ways than research alone.

Perhaps FReepers from around the Nation could work together to put up a list, a RINO’s to target list.

" I am simply saying that the most effective tack is to engage RINOs in the marketplace of ideas. "

Yes, you maybe correct in saying that we should engage them in the market place of ideas, but, we should not let their poison effect us.
FreeRepublic is a safe haven for Conservatives to come to after a day or long week of being constantly being bashed for being whom we are, and made to feel that we need to apologize for what we believe in.
FreeRepublic is a place of refuge, a safe harbor, we don't need liberals coming on here and stirring up another storm that we just were trying to get away from.

Where has moving leftt gotten us except more liberals, more infringements on our rights, more governent, more irritation, and more idiocracy in governance?

Exactly. There has been this unrelenting gravitational pull leftward because we have compromised, rationalized and cast our votes for the "lesser of the two evils."

It would be 26 years passed by since Reagan won New York when 2010 elections come. Yes it is totally different demographic now than in 1984.

But we have righteously indignant FReepers in this very thread saying they will not vote for Palin because she agreed to be the VP Candidate with McCain, and McCain supported amnesty.

So, apparently the anti-”RINO” wing isn’t even sure what a RINO is, let alone what are the non-negotiables, and how far up the chain “corruption by cooperation” extends.

Here would be a good exercise for all:

What is the list of non-negotiables for any conservative candidate? What is the fundamental philosophy in a sentence or two?

Because right now, we have some conservatives saying Palin is the best thing ever, and others saying she’s too soft and too close to being a RINO...

Funny how even the most tenured freepers fail to grasp that fact.

Go back and look at the bugzapper thread, many of the very worst FRiberals had been here since almost the very beginning.

“Them’s the rules. JimRob is just reminding us all of that.”

Yup. And I suppose that this is one of those distracting fights. So perhaps I should be banned. I’m not daring Jim Robinson. I’m merely calling the question.

If the point of his post is to announce a new, stricter and less flexible enforcement of his longstanding rules, then he should ban me and prominently say why. I’ll move to Lucianne.com or elsewhere, and he can make clear that only conservatives are welcome here.

It’s his site and he can do what he wants. He can make whatever tradeoff he wants — a clearer conservative stream of posts or a venue for converting millions to the cause. I think he is missing a huge opportunity going for the former, but of course this is his choice, and the former is a perfectly defensible strategy.

Saying that I’m disruptive, though, is foolish. No one is forced to fight. Just skim the posts I write or ignore me altogether.

Please keep in mind that I imagine that I’m as conservative as the average poster here.
