Apparently there are still some posters on FR who are fast asleep. Wake up! Dammit! We are in the middle of a conservative rebellion! While you were sleeping we, along with millions of other freedom loving grassroots Americans have participated in hundreds of tea parties all across this great land and fully intend to keep it up until all of America is awake. We are fed up and mad as hell! We grassroots Americans are delivering a message to the ruling class: NO MORE!!
No more big government! No more high taxes! No more government bailouts! No more government takeovers! No government healthcare! No more corruption! No more global baloneyism!!
We're sick and tired of liberals and RINOs running roughshod over our God given Liberty!
We want our country back! We want our freedom back! We want it all back!!
No more socialism!!
Cut the taxes! Cut the spending! Cut the government!
Restore the constitutional limits on government! Restore our freedom!!
And not only no, but HELL NO to liberals and RINOS!!
Free Republic will not support RINOS!! Rudy McRomney, et al, can go straight to hell!!

I would, except it's too late for that. I used to vote as you did. But 2008 changed all that. We've turned a corner in this nation and there won't be any going back unless we shake off the old paradigm on elections and chart a new course.
What you advocate just doesn't work. Period. It seldom has. And now it may be too late. We only have next year, and possibly, I SAY POSSIBLY, 2012 to change it around. And voting for anyone who's willing to work across the aisle in a bipartisan fashion, will never allow us to succeed.
That's why we're being so harsh on you. It's not that we dislike you as a person. I'm sure you're a very fine, upstanding citizen and lovable great grandma. But your ways are the old ways. And we're here to tell you, that we're not going down that road any longer.
That's the message. If you can't understand it, or won't understand it is too bad for you. But not for us. We frankly don't give a damn about GOP politics any longer.
It makes one wonder if the left thought FR would be aforce for good even back then.

Well, just to augment your comment that we do care about the GOP so long as it remains a Conservative vehicle for change. If it becomes, as it has in several states, a me-too liberal party, then we have zero use for it. If Republican doesn’t mean Conservative, then there is no reason whatsoever to displace the Democrats.
Prime example of that in MA, whose GOP got thoroughly taken over by the left, the party is now dead and completely unable to win. There’s a Governor’s race next year and some are running around saying how “important” it is a “Republican” win. Why ? The “Republicans” running are liberals, the same liberals that killed the party dead (read: William Weld (who endorsed Zero) and Slick Willard). I endorsed an Independent running for Governor next year, Tim Cahill, because he is to the right of any of the RINOs running. He’s not a right-winger, of course, but he’s preferable to the rest of the garbage.
Ok. That sounds rather ...dismissive? It'll be too bad for ALL of us if we can't get our message of "no more RINOs" out... and more importantly, get it understood.
Methinks in most cases... gentle persuasion, but with a sense of urgency, coupled with logic and reason works better than outright dismissal.
I'm thinking of my mother as a prime example. If she were posting here and trying to convey her thoughts, some of you guys would eat her up and spit her out due to her inability to freep at 'expert level'. My mom's been a conservative Republican her whole life but has never posted on a forum of any kind. I don't know the truth behind this poster, as has been claimed by others here, but if she were my mom, I'd want her treated by "like-minded conservatives" a bit nicer. With patience, not leftie-like intolerance. We are, after all, NOT despicable leftists.
Yeah, we're mad and we're not gonna take it any more. But let's not take it out on a potential voter for our side.

Yeah, I have to wonder how old this person is. My grandmother didn’t become a great-grandmother until she was 85. Had my maternal g-grandmother still been alive when I was born, she’d have been about 114 years old ! The youngest ones of mine would’ve been at or slightly below 100. =8-0
My point is, at this time it doesn't appear to be. If it were to become that again in the future, then I'm all for it. But at this juncture, I don't see it, that's why so many have stopped contributing, and I can't honestly say I, or many of us, do care at this time. Hopefully they will get the message and change.

Well, if everyone had their first at 16....Actually I’m only 59 and I have a 19 year old Grandson. So maybe.
Dismissive? I was saying it would be if she cannot understand the implications, yes. Oh, I agree, we need everyone we can get on board. No argument there. But I've been through 3 days of this with her and a few others of like beliefs. I'm a pragmatic person. I have serious doubts about her ever getting on the bandwagon. And I'm not afraid of saying so.
Perhaps these aren't your ways. That's fine. But there comes a time, after so many back-and-forths, that one becomes cynical, and says heck, let's get on with things.
The left always fights dirty and cheats. Putting their paid operatives here is just SOP. Infiltrating FR with embedded trolls is a given. It’s just a matter of when they’ll reveal themselves and their agenda.
Hell, up until last nite, I was wondering if the leftists had paid trolls here dissing Newt cause he might run for President. I don’t put anything past them. That was why I was questioning the disses from two other freepers so strongly. If not for this thread, I’d still be wondering.
Back to the RINO problem though, it would really help if we had one thread that centralized info gathered on RINOs we know about and newly discovered ones. Just found one that is putting up legislation for ...”get ready for it”....tax breaks for pet food and supplies to pet owners. Can you believe that?
Instead of having to search multiple threads for info, one long-running thread on the topic would serve well. I mean, look how long this thread has already become just in one day!

Don’t get me wrong. I’m not preachin here. I’ve definitely had my share of lost patience posts and flaming Irish temper flareups...and it does get the ole adrenalin flowing. But yeah, we can get more people on our team with persistent persuasion. And again, if you really think someone is a DPO, wasting time on them (unless you’re bored) is just that...a waste.
I’m wanting to know what the strategy and plan is for how we get rid of the RINOs once we’ve identified and targeted them. I’m not well-versed in that process and any discussion to that effect will help ‘edicate’ me....haha.
For instance, what could we have done to stop the GOP chairpersons in NY-23 from picking Dede? How would we have stopped that and how will we stop any future rotten picks the GOP reps/chairmen make. Stuff like that...
This needs to be true on all levels.
