Apparently there are still some posters on FR who are fast asleep. Wake up! Dammit! We are in the middle of a conservative rebellion! While you were sleeping we, along with millions of other freedom loving grassroots Americans have participated in hundreds of tea parties all across this great land and fully intend to keep it up until all of America is awake. We are fed up and mad as hell! We grassroots Americans are delivering a message to the ruling class: NO MORE!!
No more big government! No more high taxes! No more government bailouts! No more government takeovers! No government healthcare! No more corruption! No more global baloneyism!!
We're sick and tired of liberals and RINOs running roughshod over our God given Liberty!
We want our country back! We want our freedom back! We want it all back!!
No more socialism!!
Cut the taxes! Cut the spending! Cut the government!
Restore the constitutional limits on government! Restore our freedom!!
And not only no, but HELL NO to liberals and RINOS!!
Free Republic will not support RINOS!! Rudy McRomney, et al, can go straight to hell!!
The strategy is we win, they lose.
Any questions?
I’m trying to catch up on reading and have only made it to #1475. Will finish (at least try) later on today.
The way I see it is that FR is a conservative site. We vote out and support CONSERVATIVES! Pretty easy, huh?
Let’s *fix* the Republican Party.
Its all right here for the mods to witness. And if your criteria is true, then its an easy thing to prove.
Cedric, you are making the very wrong assumption that the voting pool is static; the same mistake that is being made by the beltway RINOs.
While you guys were sleeping, the mushy middle upon which the RINOs depend, and even quite a large percentage of the liberals, have moved so far right that now the liberal Democrats and the liberal RINOs are sitting on the left end of the spectrum together wondering what the hell is happening, along with the RINO supporters on FR. The earth has shifted under your feet and you don't have a clue, and don't want one.
The RINOs cannot generate any energy among the electorate by offering simply an alternative label against the Democrats, while maintaining a similar big government mentality. The voters are wide awake like they have never before been in our lifetimes, possibly more than ever in the lifetime of the nation. And they are getting more informed via the internet and FNC than they have ever been able to in previous election cycles.
I have observed this phenomena among a group of solid Republican voters who just a year ago could not differentiate between RINO Republicans and conservative Republicans. These people would wait until the general election and just pull the (R) lever. They are now terrified at what they are seeing with this administration and wondering what the future holds for their children and grandchildren. They are also painfully aware that the RINO policies are woefully insufficient to save the nation.
The prevailing attitude I see is that the RINOs bled us dry for years, and now the Democrats are driving a stake through the nation's heart. Going back to just being bled dry is not a solution. Only common sense conservatism will save this nation.
Wonderful post. I wonder how many at the tea parties would close their eyes and pull the trigger for a RINO now? Not a single one, I’m willing to bet.
Cedric never sleeps!
Had to take a peek... that was WIERD..
I was involved in a stalking incident in which that was the criteria. The Mods will check posting history and request the poster to stop.
I love the sign. LOL
I was interested in thoughtful discussion but was shot down last night. My new attitude is, "Why bother?"
All I tried to do was point out that after the primary, in the general election, your choices may be garbage. The example I gave was Boxer vs Fiorina. All I got was some nonsense like, "Fight harder"...yeah, by the time you get to the general, you've already fought and lost the conservative so what do you do...sit home or vote for the RINO? I was told I was asking "silly" questions and patience for me was waning.
So, ummmm, yeah...I'm not seeing this thread as a discussion thread so much as it is a chest dumbing thread.
What you wrote needs to be said over, and over, again. There has been a seismic shift in opinion over the past 12 months. People who thought they did the right thing by voting Obama into office are seeing their mistake. People who blindly pulled the (R) lever see McCain publicly commending Obama as a good person and wonder how he could do that with all the evidence to the contrary. The Tea Parties are just the face of a very large undercurrent of desperation.
Same ol’, same ol’ just isn’t going to cut it anymore. Not for these people. They voted for change. Now they’re going to demand change; only it isn’t what the Dems and RINOs offered. And if the powers that be work to fraudulently steal the next election, there will be revolution.
I guess I need to see change from the top down. If the top guys in the GOP change, the ones left at the bottom will either leave or change. I don’t know if I can get into the dirt with the local lovelies who select the rinos, and then cry when they vote dem.
My question is simple: would you prefer to have Rudy Guiliani in the Senate or the democrat Kirsten Gillibrand?
LOL, it’s understandable that you would want to defend your home town boy, but let’s face it: Pawlenty is about as inspiring as a mashed potato sandwich. It’s not a case of ‘no sizzle or no steak’, there’s nothing on the grille that is going to inspire the electorate, let alone conservatives.
When your guy starts drawing the kind of enthusiasm and the crowds that Sarah Palin does at the drop of a hat, then maybe he’ll have somewhere to go on a national scale.
Thank you meadsjn...
It’s in missouri. :)
They're stuck on the childish, “no more RINOs” chant, while you have progressed to addressing the real life, hard choices, requiring critical thinking skills which, apparently, your detractors envy in you to a degree which has made them surly and even irrational.
I would prefer the conservative, even if it means third party or writing in. I know where you’re going... this thread has been there before.
You do realize that Colorado group is FOS. Half of their accusations are completely false (The Supreme Court nominee was not a planned parenthood director, she was director of a pro-adoption group in the 90s that became part of planned parenthood in 2003, almost a half a decade after she left).
The rest is innuendo and twisting statements. That group has pretty much zero respect here, and not just for the attack on Palin, if you browse their website, it is pure amateur hour that does little but attack other pro-lifers.
Well, you were repeatedly asked which of the articles in the bill of rights you’d be willing to let go of.
You refused to answer the question.
