Cedric, you are making the very wrong assumption that the voting pool is static; the same mistake that is being made by the beltway RINOs.
While you guys were sleeping, the mushy middle upon which the RINOs depend, and even quite a large percentage of the liberals, have moved so far right that now the liberal Democrats and the liberal RINOs are sitting on the left end of the spectrum together wondering what the hell is happening, along with the RINO supporters on FR. The earth has shifted under your feet and you don't have a clue, and don't want one.
The RINOs cannot generate any energy among the electorate by offering simply an alternative label against the Democrats, while maintaining a similar big government mentality. The voters are wide awake like they have never before been in our lifetimes, possibly more than ever in the lifetime of the nation. And they are getting more informed via the internet and FNC than they have ever been able to in previous election cycles.
I have observed this phenomena among a group of solid Republican voters who just a year ago could not differentiate between RINO Republicans and conservative Republicans. These people would wait until the general election and just pull the (R) lever. They are now terrified at what they are seeing with this administration and wondering what the future holds for their children and grandchildren. They are also painfully aware that the RINO policies are woefully insufficient to save the nation.
The prevailing attitude I see is that the RINOs bled us dry for years, and now the Democrats are driving a stake through the nation's heart. Going back to just being bled dry is not a solution. Only common sense conservatism will save this nation.
Wonderful post. I wonder how many at the tea parties would close their eyes and pull the trigger for a RINO now? Not a single one, I’m willing to bet.
Cedric never sleeps!
What you wrote needs to be said over, and over, again. There has been a seismic shift in opinion over the past 12 months. People who thought they did the right thing by voting Obama into office are seeing their mistake. People who blindly pulled the (R) lever see McCain publicly commending Obama as a good person and wonder how he could do that with all the evidence to the contrary. The Tea Parties are just the face of a very large undercurrent of desperation.
Same ol’, same ol’ just isn’t going to cut it anymore. Not for these people. They voted for change. Now they’re going to demand change; only it isn’t what the Dems and RINOs offered. And if the powers that be work to fraudulently steal the next election, there will be revolution.
Thank you meadsjn...
