Global warming alarmists are scrambling to save face after hackers stole hundreds of incriminating e-mails from a British university and published them on the Internet.
The messages were pirated from the Climatic Research Unit (CRU) of the University of East Anglia (UEA) and reveal correspondence between British and American researchers engaged in fraudulent reporting of data to favor their own climate change agenda. UEA officials confirmed one of their servers was hacked, and several of the scientists involved admitted the authenticity of the messages, according to the New York Times. The article opined, "The evidence pointing to a growing human contribution to global warming is so widely accepted that the hacked material is unlikely to erode the overall argument."
Climatologist Patrick J. Michaels challenged that position. "This is not a smoking gun, this is a mushroom cloud." The e-mails implicate scores of researchers, most of whom are associated with the UN's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), an organization many skeptics believe was created exclusively to provide evidence of anthropogenic global warming (AGW).

B-b-b-but I invented the internet!"
WE breath 02 in and CO2 out...and what would we do without plants...it’s CO2 every place...how did these jerk offs get away with this so long?
I know a few Conservative musicians.. I’ll mention “harmony-central” to them.. Thanks for the link!
Brilliant!
The lefty’s on that forum resort to the same tactics as lefty’s everywhere: with insults, name-calling, denial, etc...
They really are children.
It would be fascinating to see a real paradigm shift. It is slowly becoming more conservative.
climateGate Impeach and stop Obama
"Well folks, this story is so important, we felt that the fabrication of some evidence is completely warranted."
Nothing like a “mushroom cloud” to end Global Warming. You might say this is going to bring in a Nuclear winter with regard to Climate Change credibility.
We have long known it was never about the climate anyway. It was always about creating yet another mechanism with which to implement total socialist control over the daily lives of all us non-elites.

pinging thread to read later!
bump for tomorrow- Are those IPCC researchers who admitted fraud current IPCC? Or are they ex-IPCC?
That is the story title, what they are admitting is subject to interpretation.
I haven’t read the article yet, but often times, ex-IPCC researchers are simply referred to as ‘IPCC researchers’ which is why I’m asking, because if they are ex-IPCC, then they will be accused by the IPCC of being ‘disgruntled ex employees’ who ‘have an ax to grind’- they’ll be marginalized by the Mainstream media- heck, even if they’re currently employed by the IPCC, they’ll be deemed as disgruntled and marginalized in the MSM I’m sure- and sadly, people will buy it.
You should have a look here at the contents of a certain programmers comment files. They start at the top of this page and go on randomly for several pages on the forum(Follow Asimov). I think this is even bigger than the emails.

It’s always been about taxing and controlling the serfs...
Nice work over there.
One thing I notice is that some of the posters are trying to say the email release released private personal information about the emailers. The NYT blogsite you quoted also used the supposed release of personal information as an excuse not to post the emails.
BUT...there’s an article floating around FR somewhere where the guy makes an extremely interesting observation, which is that there is in fact NO private personal info in the emails — no sensitive contact info, no emails between husbands and wives, no personal stuff about what’s going on in the office, no off topic chit chat, etc. When you consider how many emails are in the file and yet there is none of this kind of thing, it becomes obvious that whoever released the emails culled them scrupulously to avoid releasing that info. They removed the ones that would have revealed personal stuff. It appears they wanted this release to be “clean”, probably to deny the Alarmists the opportunity the impugn it as a personal smear attack rather than the more businesslike attack that it actually is.
From what I read it appears to me “they” are acknowledging the emails as legitimate, and the article’s authors are therefore accepting said acknowledgement as admission of fraud.
I could be wrong, but that’s what I think I read here.
