Okay...it's time to regroup. Health care is a done-deal. It's time to focus on using the Dems' strategy against them. They're going to wait until after 2012 to implement their health plan, thinking they'll avoid any backlash until Obama's reelected? Well they're wrong. As a result of their miscalculation, we're going to see a mass slaughter in 2010 and 2012 like we've never seen--and I'm referring, of course, to the voting booth. Landslide victories for the G.O.P. The point--we have FOUR YEARS TO REVERSE THIS BEFORE IT GOES INTO EFFECT. HOLD THE REPUBLICANS' FEET TO THE FIRE. MAKE THEM SWEAR THEY'RE GOING TO REVERSE THIS WHEN THEY COME INTO OFFICE. When something's in place, we all know it'll never end. But we have four years to keep it from being put in place. NOW IS THE TIME TO GET BUSY...NOT TO LET UP.

AMEN!!! If the idiots in the GOP can't use this abortion as THE ISSUE they need to run on and win in 2010 and 2012, then they'll never learn!

The only way to ensure the GOP will carry through and revoke Obamacare to elect Sarah in 2012.

Let’s list the DEM rat Senators that are up for re-election in 2010 and flood their offices with the ultimatum that they are FINISHED if they vote in this bill.

Health care is a done-deal.

This is far from over. The vote tonight is on the Senate version of the healthcare bill. There will be many changes/negotiations/bribes/whatever before the House and Senate bills combine, if they ever do.

Thanks for shaking me out my depression. What dems are up for reelection in 2010... other than Shumer(NY) and Specter (PA)? Shumer will get reelected — it’s New York. Specter could easily lose to Toomey. Reid’s behind in every poll I’ve seen in NV. Dodd (CT) is behind. Rudy’s running in NY vs Gildebrand. Maybe Del? NH has an open seat (Gregg’s)but the Rep running should win to hold that seat. Open seat in Fl.. hopefully Rubio will win that one. Who else? AND WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED WITH LIEBERMAN?????? This sooooo sux.

It’s not over. This is not the vote Lieberman said he’d go against the Dems on. This vote allows the bill to be debated. We knew debate would occur, didn’t you?

The big vote is the one to end debate(the Republican filibuster) which requires 60 votes. Debate, especially endless debate is good and kills the bill.

In fact, Reid may have to have a couple of Republicans even if his caucus holds firm. As the Hill reports, Reid can’t count on getting everyone into the chamber for this vote. Max Baucus, who helped put together a different version of the bill, left DC this week to be with his seriously-ill mother. Robert Byrd has been able to attend the Senate only occasionally this year due to his own health problems. Five other Senate Democrats had already arranged a “codel’ — an official travel event — and may not be able to stay in town.

Reid has to have 60 positive votes to overcome the threshold this weekend. If he can’t get that because of absences, Reid can’t even open debate on the bill — which makes his sudden schedule change all the more inexplicable. Why not wait until Reid can ensure that all of his colleagues will be on the floor to win the vote?

You need 2/3rd of Congress to over-ride Presidential Veto.

Obama is not hated enough yet to get us those kind of winning totals in Congress. This is his legacy now. It will be the straw that bankrupts America but they care little about that when they can blame Afghanistan and Iraq.

Very sad day for our children. It was the only hope we had to force a change now he gets to have his way with 51 Senators and the Moderates will vote no and go back to their contituents and claim ingnorance.

There are things in this legislation that even the Liberals would have to be against but hey... Obama made it clear. This accompishment is already written in my state of the Union address and I will not go a full year without doing something....

This vote just allows debate to begin. There will be another cloture vote to end debate - that vote will be the critical one where we need to convince Lieberman, or one other democrat to vote no.

Effing prostitute!

Someone should buy a billboard, put up photos of Lincold and Landrieu next to Snowe and Collins (in background) and beneath it: "Escorts for Sale"

Allow me to be a pessimist and say that I highly doubt we will ‘slaughter’ the Democrats. We’ll make gains but we certainly will not wipe them out. That is wishful thinking, not realistic.

While I understand this is a vote to bring it up for discussion and that simply bringing it up makes it one step closer, it IS true that it is just a vote to debate it?

They aren’t going to vote on it tonight after an hour of debate, are they?

Well, given the history, they might.

I repeat THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A ‘MODERATE’ DEMONRAT. THEY ARE ALL FRAUDS looking to get elected in districts they would NEVER have a chance otherwise. This is proof that they are just as leftist as Pelosi and Reid and always have been, but many of us already know that and those who actually thought you could convince ‘blue dogs’ any other way on this radical agenda, you are finding out now that it was all a sham because there are NO SUCH THINGS! Is there any doubt that the Demon party are instruments of evil?!

Another one folds.

How is Liberman voting?

He said (I think) that he wouldn’t vote for it if abortion were not covered.
