Steps 4 through 7 maybe the last best hope of sanity in this nation.

It can’t be reversed without 60 votes in the senate. That means 60 Rep. with no defectors. Not likely.

How can one fight bribery?
All that so-called stimulus money went to buy
votes and if that didn’t work I’m sure a little threat
here and there helped.
I’m sure the dims are more afraid of 0 & thugs then anything. IMHO
No doubt by me. There are 80 reliable lefty votes in the Senate. Reid will just let some of them off the hook.
This will be a permanent change, just like FDR’S changes. Our country will never be the same. Get ready for SKY HIGH TAXES.
....not a wipeout....
I believe you are right. Not a wipeout at this point. 12 to 20 seats in the House, Senate I dunno? Hardly enough to stop them. Of course, the bottom could drop out on the Dems or they could regroup. A year is a lifetime in politics.
This vote was blown out of proportion by Reid and the Obama state media so they had a PR victory !
The real battle is the next cloture vote after the debate .
Lieberman alwys stated he was voted for a debate but will vote against the true cloture vote .
NO , they still need a 60 votes to stop the debate .
That was how amnesty was killed . The bill not got a cloture vote to stop the debate.
Not so fast. There are two 60 vote procedures left.
There is the cloture vote before final passage of the Senate bill, and another before the conference report is brought up for final passage.
This is not a done deal.
They are gonna get their heads beat in during the Holidays and next year is Election year.
Let’s see how brave they are by the end of this process.
They only need 51 to pass it now... thats the problem... They easily have 51 radical leftwingers who dont care and are either not up for re-election or are in Liberal safe havens....
We are screwed... The fight is over.
You are the only one that is right. It’s over. The traitors votes for no after this is only for cover.
Frankly, this battle was lost long ago and it won't be won in some future legislature dominated by conservatives and backed by a conservative president - simply because 'conservatives' are in no wise 'of the same mind.' Conservatives can't even agree on the definition of conservatism - witness this very website...
And witness the recent Republican governor's conference in conciliation to Obama and crowd.
It was indeed lost long ago. Personally I think Clinton was a turning point, who indeed was slick, but, perhaps even Sr. Bush who was a NWO'er, although at least he was explicit about it.
And I agree, this website, beautifully run and appropriately intentioned, shows the tragic loss among its attendees of the deeper understanding of what conservatism is.
Think of how profound, on a world historical scale, this tragedy is: a total loss of what human dignity, freedom, and responsibility, actually mean.
Not that it hasn't happened before, but humanity, even when given the explicit example (the USA), fails to comprehend its own Soul.

I pray you’re right on this. I was stunned when I saw Lieberman voted for cloture. Thanks for the note.
Can’t they just resub as appropriations bill and get it with only 51 votes?
Everybody take a deep breath.
There are two 60 vote hurdles left.
There is the cloture vote to close off debate and move to final passage of the Senate bill, and another before the conference report is moved for final passage.
This is not a done deal.
They are gonna get their heads beat in during the Holidays and next year is Election year.
Lets see how brave they are by the end of this process.
