It’s been a little while since a good confrontation between a birther and a member of Congress, but here’s one from last week: a constituent of Rep. Scott Garrett (R-N.J.) asking his congressman why Republicans won’t do anything about the “eligibility issue.” It makes for awkward viewing, as Garrett’s staff clearly wants a change of subject from an audience that seems to be fine with pushing the question. At around 4:40 in the video, the congressman finally engages.
“Obviously, there is no political solution to it,” says Garrett. “Even if the entire Republican Party was united on the issue–”
He’s cut off by another constituent. “Have him show his birth certificate! It’s as simple as that! None of this ‘talk about it, talk about it’ — just let’s see the birth certificate!”
“I agree,” says Garrett — who’s not one of the 12 sponsors of the “birther bill.”

I sure hope so. I wonder if the GOP and moderate Dems are waiting for O’s negatives to get very very high.
Garrett is a great Congressman and a political friend as well. The best Congresscritter from NJ!
It seemed so 6 months ago. This issue has no legs.

He seemed dead set on getting arrested in order to finally get this through the courts.

It will be tough after BO is sworn in. Throughout history you will find prosecutions are put aside to preserve stability of a nation during a crisis. Today we have a financial meltdown and currency crisis. Huge debt threaten to destroy the US and world economy. Wall Street and the US government knows that and are desperately trying to stabilize the situation and slowly dismantle the liabilities and inflate away the debt without triggering hyperinflation. There is enough out there to prosecute Wall Street execs and their inner staff for fraud and SEC violations, but I think the government knows that the people responsible for the mess are the people who have the knowledge to guide us out of the mess, thus prosecution is put off and may never be pursued in exchange for Wall Street willingness to cooperate. Question to the real powers to be, at this moment of US economic crisis do you want to further destablize American confidence in their government with the Impeachment of Pres Obama. It has ramifications if Obama does not have proof of citizenship and worst if proven he was born overseas and not eligible for POTUS. Scandal will engulf Dean head of DNC, and Obama’s wife Michelle. It will also involve the officials of Hawaii and the officials of his college for not coming foward on such an important legal crime. One of my friends joked, there will be a rash of suicides, acidental deaths and natural deaths like we never seen before of all those involved. That is how big I think this crisis can be. I think birthers will hit an official wall made up of Dems, GOP, corporate America, and the true ruling elites of this country in the name of national stability. I think maybe 70 years from now when records are unseal, the birthers will have their answer.

i agree. This will take time to get legs. People had to feel uncomfortable about him. He demonstrates that he’s not for this country daily. People are starting to feel it.
Yeah, that may be, but in the meantime the Usurper in Chief is dragging the entire country into hell. That’s not “stability” to me. Sometimes to cure a disease a bit of cutting/surgery/chemo has to be done. Just keeping the tumor in so the patient remains stabilized leads only to further (possibly fatal) illness.
Stability? 0bama will ruin the country. That’s not stability.
One can only hope. They can purge themselves now or wait until they are eliminated for knowing too much.
I for one don’t care what it cost in life/blood/treasure
or anything else that man holds dear!!!

There are a number of links to video on the thread ,...but I believe link at post #81 has the Rev saying that the only way to get Obama out of office is via the 'Birth Certificate'.
Check thread linked at post #19.....for info....last I read it he had not.
