The House passed a bill including the “Stupak-Pitts” amendment, which not only prevents abortion coverage in the public health insurance option but also prohibits private health insurers that have any customers receiving federal subsidies from offering abortion coverage...

...pro-choice activists say it amounts to a de facto ban on abortion.

“It would be a great irony if we worked so hard to elect a pro-choice president and this law passed on his watch,” said Terry O’Neill, president of the National Organisation for Women...

Most of us already knew this. But it is schadenfreude-with-little-chocolate-sprinkles-and-a-cherry-on-top to see the feminist-socialist alliance squirm like this...

Wouldn't it be strange and wonderful if the tiny unborn babies mobilize the forces that Kill The Bill!

They can't. The Democrats can't get government health care without including a ban on public financing for abortion. The taxpayers should not be forced to pay for it. If they strip the Stupak Amendment, there will NO Obamacare. Its an illustration of the adage that you can't have something for nothing. Not even a government take over of health care.

Yes, it would be fitting. But I’m worried that Obama will find some way to get the bill passed with the limit on funding and then take it away in some regulatory way soon after.

There is a danger in some Democrats’ basing their opposition to the bill on abortion alone. I hope people are wary of this.

Understand that abortion “coverage” or funding isn’t THE big issue with the fems.

It’s a “higher” concept of having no implied moral judgement in the law or our society for

DECISIONS THEY’VE ALREADY MADE.

That's true. But their abortion on demand entitlement has always been a minority view in this country.

I saw a early Sunday morning program comprised of what seemed to be Pro Life Liberals. (though sleepy) I got the impression that they were against the bill for this reason.

Statistically, I wonder how many of the aborted children would grow up to be democratic voters? (for consideration by 0bama)

I agree, no bill.

The healthcare bill will not pass without federal support for abortions and donations to Planned Parenthood’s abortion houses being wiped out of it.

God will prevail — and God is pro-life!

Were you aware of these statistics?

Deaths in America per year
1,400,000 people die from abortion
650,000 people die of heart disease
560,000 people die of cancer
143,000 people die of stroke
75,000 people die of diabetes

Another perspective:
18,000 - Deaths by death penalty in American history (all the way back to the 1600s).
1,315,000 - Deaths in all American wars combined.
50,000,000 - Deaths by abortion since Roe v Wade

Pray for an end to abortion in the United States of America.

**Statistically, I wonder how many of the aborted children would grow up to be democratic voters?**

Probably many of them — if not a majority of them. And there is also a high majority of black baibes killed through abortion each year.

Maybe someone else has up to date statistics on that.

Exactly correct.

The 'victory' in the House was a phony one, only to push it to the Senate, where it will die.

"The 'victory' in the House was a phony one, only to push it to the Senate, where it will die."

Actually, one could take that statement either way: either that the "Stupak" victory was phony, and will die in the Senate; or that the passage of the PelosiCare bill itself was a phony "victory" (for Pelosi) and will die in the Senate.

I am not tempermentally well-equipped to enjoy the risk and suspense thing. Anyway, we shall see.

That is how I meant it.

When a Bill in the House gets passed by only 5 votes and the Majority Party holds a 80 vote lead, it means there is very little real support for the Bill.

The Senate is where Bills go to die.

Good list.

Wonder if the CBA (Congressional Budget) has an accounting of where more time has been spent.....

Debating an unborn child’s right to life,

Defending the right under the current HC bill to tax everyone capable of paying taxes in order to pay for abortions.

I’m sure most legislators are more concerned as to the order of their signature on the bill.
