"Today I am resigning from the Governorship of Alaska to run for the Presidency of the United States, a position in which I believe I can do much more good for the American people."

Walk away, nothing more.

If Palin wanted remain viable as a political product this is what she should have done. Instead she blamed her plight on a bunch of "meanies" who drove her from office. I doubt she can overcome this mistake but then again, a political future may not have been on her radar.

I call 'em as I see 'em.

Her reason for leaving was clear and concise and, more importantly, THE TRUTH

I am very happy with the explanation she gave and do not wish she gave a different ‘political’ one

She did no such thing you disingenuous schmuck.

I doubt she can overcome this mistake

Your worthless opinion, not consistent with the massive interest in her book, book tour, and speculation on 2012.

but then again, a political future may not have been on her radar.

She declared? When? If she didn't, then why the endless vanities about her?

She's even inside your head, and I don't mean the minuscule one.

tonight on Hannity, Dick Morris said Palin’s resignation speech should have been about wanting to raise hell in the Lower 48 to stop ObamaCare.

Candidates don't announce a run for the presidency without preparation, without a Testing the Waters phase and 3 1/2 years before an election.

Why would or should Palin?

I totally agree Bob J. Her resignation as Alaska governor before she completed her first term was a fatal political mistake no matter how many excuses she or her supporters give on the reasons why she resigned. For the majority of voters this act will totally disqualify her from being a President. She was already perceived by a majority of voters as not qualified and her resignation for certain made the matters much worse. I wish she did not resign but she did.

However no matter what we say on this issue it is going no where with the majority of folks on this forum. Many of them are convinced that she is the next Reagan. So be it. There will be primaries in 2012 and we shall see.

Obamacare wasn't even on the radar when Palin resigned.
She still had to deal with the post-resignation fallout and transition anyway (and she still wrote in Facebook).

Perhaps you could provide some quotes where Sarah said that.

Wow. By golly Cletis. Your warm, personable small town accent didn’t hide your agenda.

Let me try.

“Bob J is a troll. I call ‘em as I see ‘em.”

Did it work for me?

That would have been idiotic..Ok so I am resigning to run for President. The election is three years away. Why resign now. So no, that would have made NO sense. I really don’t get how come people are either blind or full of hate for this woman to not see why she resigned. Does she have to use sock puppets or something..SHE WAS BLEEDING MONEY because Obama’s zombies were being paid to file ethics complaint after ethics complaint against her. She could not do her job anymore. It was either resign or end up bankrupt. Show me anyone else who would have to deal with that and still stay on. Everyday she came to her office she had a new ethics charge. She had to think of her family, her state. She was NOT going to let those bastards win so she came up with a new plan. If they had just left her alone and her do her JOB she would have finished out her term

What tripe. She’s more good out in the public. It’s 3 years from the presidential election. Who knows what 2010 will bring and what else Pelosi’s Bambi has in store. To announce her candidacy at that point in time would be folly. She’s more a resource for conservatives beomg circulation around the US now than being a lame duck governor.

Palin is awesome!

But she isn’t ready for the Presidential stage.

Neither was Zer0, Bush 43, Biden, Edwards, Huckleberry, Clintoon, Mrs. Clintoon, Perot, Nader and all the other bit players.

We need a Presidential candidate who has had governamental experience, and who can rally citizens around a cause!

Somwhow Ron Reagan comes to mind. I’m sure there is another one like him out there, but I don’t know who he/she is!

I appreciate your concern. But let's forget for a moment about what you think is the opinion of the "majority of voters".

Do YOU think Palin is unqualified?

Her resignation as Alaska governor before she completed her first term was a fatal political mistake

Only "fatal" if you're basing your conclusions on the subjective opinions of the mainstream media.

no matter how many excuses she or her supporters give on the reasons why she resigned.

Not excuses, facts that have been explained again and again.

For the majority of voters this act will totally disqualify her from being a President.

Sure it will, which is why she's still included in hypothetical matchups in 2012 and continues to garner massive media coverage.

She was already perceived by a majority of voters as not qualified and her resignation for certain made the matters much worse.

Per who? Again, through non-credible media polls that's shaping your opinion?

I wish she did not resign but she did.

I wish you would see her resignation video, get the facts on why she stepped down, draw your own conclusions instead of repeating a leftist talking point.

However no matter what we say on this issue it is going no where with the majority of folks on this forum.

And the majority of them are firmly in Palin's camp. LOL

Many of them are convinced that she is the next Reagan.

We never said she was bub.

So be it. There will be primaries in 2012 and we shall see.

Yes, please bring on the competitors. Such heavy hitters like Romney, Huckabee, Pawlenty, Daniels, etc who have no base of support and can't inspire passion even on Valentine's Day.
