Neither evening was unduly cold, but the wind and rain kept us from deploying the MOAB on either FReep 238 & 239. Although it's a lot more difficult to put up and take down wearing winter gear, the exertion required has the effect of warming you up. No matter, because Trooprally and Lurker Bill always have their Mini-MOABs. You can see one behind BufordP, and they work in all but the most extreme weather.
There was a CBS satellite vehicle outside the hospital on Nov 6 to tape a segment about the terrorist Major Nidal Hasan, who killed 13 of his fellow soldiers and wounded 30 more at Ft Hood. Hasan had spent time at Walter Reed, so of course the media wanted to use the entrance as a backdrop for their story. It was no biggie, they sat there for a few hours and eventually someone I'd never seen before showed up to do what looked like a quick 10 minute segment.
And yes, of course Hasan was a terrorist. Radical Muslims around the world seemed to have no trouble figuring it out. It's only the left that pretends that he did it because he was psychologically disturbed or something.
Photo of the night
Either Mrs. Trooprally caught Lurker Bill in the worlds biggest yawn or he was practicing his opera singing
Poor Bill, we love ya!
This man needs a third arm
Mr Trooprally does pretty well holding what must be a 15 foot high flagpole and holding a sign, but RonG outdoes us all with two signs and a flag!
New Blood
From Sterling VA, no less, right in my backyard!
As all of you know we won a smashing victory November 3 in Virginia with the election of Bob McDonnell, Bill Bolling, and Ken Cuccinelli, as well as many good conservative GOP delegates to the statehouse. This despite the attempts of the Washington Compost to smear McDonnell and Cuccinelli. The aforementioned two FReepers as well as myself helped a bit on the campaigns, and were glad to see our efforts so rewarded.
So take that, Obama!
What It's All About
Although we have a great time chatting amongst each other and waving at the motorists, the entire event is for and about the troops. The highlight of the evening is when the bus or busses of wounded warriors and their families come back to the hospital from their night out.
Come join us every Friday night between the hours of 6:30pm to approx 9:30pm.

DC Chapter Ping!
It's true. He was singing. I heard him. "Electric Avenue". I hate that song.
God Bless you all for what you are doing to support our heroes at Walter Reed every Friday night!
It was such an honor to get to join you on 9/11/09! We will always remember that night and all the wonderful patriots who joined us! God Bless our military!
Thank you all for being there.
Thanks for keeping the unbroken streak of saying “thank you” to our troops and families.
I mean to include Lurker Bill and the new folks from Sterling...did I miss anyone else in the pictures?
Thank you all!
...and Cindy-True-Supporter; Fraxinus; GunsAreOK. Also, Pasquale was there the previous week. The new woman from Sterling is Second Hand Rose. I forget her husband’s name. I’m so bad with names.
BUMP!
Oh well, if I must. Thank you for all that you and the othere guys are doing. Thank you for the AAR. Thank you for standing up for our troops. Thank you for making the weenies look like idiots (oh, that’s right, they are idiots). Thank you for holding those heavy signs. Thank you for hoisting the American flags. Thank you for the putting up the banners. Thank you for yelling at all the passing cars. Thank you for thanking any troops that happen to come by. Thank you for smoking the cigars where I can’t smell them. Thank you for braving the cold. Thank yo for braving the heat. Thank you for standing in the rain. Thank you for standing in the sun. Thank you for taking abuse from any liberals who happen to pass by. Thank you for eating all the pizza and not sending me a piece. Thank you for making fun of Lurker Bill’s signing. Thank you for waiting for the dinner buses to come back. Thank you for putting up with Troop. Did I forget anything? Thank you.

Buford - you are just so Bad......!
Good report Tom.

So, did Code Pink try to hog the cameras and claim that we were supporting Hasan by being out there every Friday? I wouldn’t put it past these sub-human amoebas.
Maryland PING!
THANK YOU for all that you do!
It doesn’t seem to sound like much but I am from the west coast, Oregon. It is just not possible for me to physically be there.
YOU Speak for me!
THANKS again.
LOL! Don’t mention it.
We just made our second trip out to get stuff for the soldiers. We found a local church that will send a truck there on the 18th of November!
Sweat pants, t-shirts, sweat shirts, tooth paste and such, socks, undies!!
So they know people in Rochester NY care!!
And I just showed Chris this posting!!
May God continue to bless you all!
mrs
Thank you for your kind words. I am blessed that I am able to be there.
Hooray for Rochester!
Now I know you are chip off the old block.
I am glad you are involved in this and sure the DC Gang are proud to have you as an honorary member too.
Hello to Chris, maybe he will follow the adventures of the FREEPERS.
ROTFLOL, You are welcome, I think. But definitely YOU ARE WELCOME for all the other ones. We've heard that the buses will be coming earlier on Fridays due to a change in the drivers' contract. So as the cold nights creep up on us, we've seen the buses coming before 9:30. Looks like the days of 10PM plus bus arrivals are over. It sure did get cold and long not knowing when the buses will be driving up. [Mr] T
