Nicaragua's President on Monday urged Latin American peoples to unite in order to force the removal of airbases in Colombia that the U.S. military intend to use.
President Daniel Orgeta, a main ally to Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, announced that the greatest struggle for Latin American countries was to "make dissappear once and for all ... the military bases that threaten the sovereignty, integrity and peace of our people."
Ortega denounced the recent Colombia - U.S. military agreement (which he believes to have been initiated by the George W Bush administration) as the greatest threat to Colombia and Latin American as a whole, reported Colombia media on Monday.
Ortega further declared the military bases as "symbols of war" and accused Colombia of being a "traitor" for allowing the U.S. to use its territory for military purposes.
Venezuela's Chavez intensified the crisis with Colombia today by announcing that his country must prepare for war due to his suspicions that an attack launched from Washington against Venezuela could be imminent.
In response to Chavez' "threats of war", Colombia's government stated today that it will seek advise from the UN and the Organization of American States.
Relations between Colombia and her neighbors have been under strain since Colombia began negotiations with Washington some months ago, to allow the U.S. military to have access to various airbases throughout the country. An agreement was sealed and publically revealed at the beginning of November, provoking outrage from Venezuela and Ecuador namely.
I’m surprised that 0 has not already appologize and turn Columbia over to Baby Hugo.

I just had dinner with a friend from Columbia. He was quite happy America was going to have those bases in Columbia. He is, I might add, a successful businessman here in America, and quite impressed with the Constitution.
Chavez and other commies such as Ortega and other commie wanna-be types are unhappy about the US bases, and they should be unhappy, according to my friend.
He hopes America will do to Chavez what we did to Noriega.
So do I.

So much for the blood and treasure we spent to get rid of Ortega 23 years ago. Remember the Contras? Well, we evidently failed those fine people.
Things are splendid with Honduras, Panama and Colombia right now and quite frankly Mr. Chavez - all your wealthy peple have left to here, the US or Costa Rica - so you’ve got nobody left to tax. Nicaragua fails to improve infrastructure, so it is a slab of mud. Fully 1/3 of its citizens are working illegally outside the country, 1 million are in Costa Rica. Bolivia isn’t worth mentioning other than the poor citizens there. Ortega, Noriega, Castro, Chavez, Zelaya, Morales (Bolivia)...is there a 52 card deck of the enemies of democracy yet? Can Freepers make one and sell it? Can Nancy Pelosi and Biden be the Jokers? A billion dollars in entreprenuerial investment is in the offing here, so later, let’s see how the Cana Soto airbase in Honduras, the 5 or so in Colombia, the ones in Panama and the rest hold on against Chavez.
Last time the commies tried this in many Latin American countries, death squads went around hunting for them. What makes them think they won’t do it again?
Many death squads in Central America are hunting gang-members, it’s really quite easy to switch gears and go after communists. Especially when they are coming out of the woodwork.
Besides, many people in Latin America hate Chavez more than the US. Although with 0 that could be a close thing.
Isn’t enough STP fuel additive in the world to clear the sulfur and grunge out of the crude from Venezuela if used in tanks in planes. ExxonMobil is on the verge of winning a multi-billion dollar judgment against Venezuela and Chavez personally and federal agencies collectively for illegally taking over the plants/refineries in that country, violating public law and private contracts wholesale and without regard. The entire estate of Chavez and quite a bit of the country might need to be auctioned off, or could be liened by ExxonMobil.
News flash to Daniel Ortega... we also have aircraft carriers we can use to bomb you back to the stone age if you really want to mess with us!
Not reasonable to expect Comrade Obama to oppose Comrade Chavez.

GUATEMALA, November 11 (Itar-Tass) - Russian Emergency Situations Minister Sergei Shoigu and Commander in Chief of the Nicaraguan Armed Forces Omar Halleslevens have concluded an agreement on cooperation in the sphere of coping with the aftermath of natural calamities.
