Folks, I'm really worried about the House's passage of the Obamacare bill last night. I'm mostly concerned about the fines/jail time for not purchasing an insurance plan.
Currently, I've been without health insurance for over 2 years. I could have bought into a plan, but because the plan's price and my low income (despite my professional job), I decided against getting health insurance. I'm young and in relatively good health. I take prescription meds, but I can purchase them cheaply through Walmart.
My question to the FR community is this: since I don't want to pay fines or go to jail for a misdemeanor (e.g., not buying health insurance) , where should I move to? I was thinking Mexico, Israel, or the motherland Ireland. Atleast in those places, you are not forced to purchase health insurance. Any other suggestions? Am I blowing things out of proportion? Thanks for your input!
Welcome to FR.
Not only that but they will own your body and take away your smokes and drinks and meat.
Well that is correct, you have many choices, but as far as government mandated health care, and a bank account, and or a job, and the IRS.... no, you don’t have a choice.
That only works twice. ;)
Go to prison and let the guvmint pay for your health care.!!
Look for people in this nation to practice “civil disobedinece” BIGTIME.
With so many Americans practicing “civil diobedence”, it will next to impossible to enforce.
I’m taking “steak-dinner-bets”.
How about don't relax and make sure it doesn't get past the senate.
Look for this country to have an “underground economy”.
>>If the Feds ever come after you, theres over a thousand lawyers ready to jump at the chance to take your case to the United States Supreme Court.<<
Are you depending on the lawyers who were bought off in this bill? Or the ones busy overturning elections that didn’t go their way?
I’d sooner trust a skunk not to stink!
Look for a bloody revolution to errupt if that was to happened.
There will be so many of us, they won’t be able to enforce this. Don’t worry. This will not be a law of the land. If it were to pass the senate, resistance will well up like you wouldn’t believe. These people are flurting with genuine revolution. You cannot suddenly subjugate a free people and not reasonably expect repercussions. Nancy Pelosi is enjoying her day in the sun. It won’t last.
Not all lawyers are leftist, there are good conservative lawyers out there.
Amen to that!
Have you been to a doctor in the last ten years. Do not confuse health insurance policy with healthcare. Doctors have worked for pigs and chickens...
Welcome to FR!
Let ‘em just try to take my money! Like I said, forcing an American to buy something is highly unconstitutional and it is most certainly going to get struck down in the Supreme Court.
I’m not worried about it.
Cheers
It is, however, closely in league with their ways of thinking. I might as well quote Eric Hoffer, again, who wrote of this type, "The war on the present is usually a war on facts. Facts are the toys of men who live and die at leisure. They who are engrossed in the rapid realization of an extravagant hope tend to view facts as something base and unclean. Facts are counter-revolutionary.."
Your problem with this subversive and anti-American bill is exactly the problem I've had with it all along. Though there are so many things just wrong about this move, the Socialist Democrat's dream of overturning the place of the People in our constitutional republic cannot succeed without the "individual mandate."
Short of violent resistance, I determined, along with an increasing number of people, not to cooperate.
It doesn't matter to me whether this is effective in reversing this trend or overturning such a change in the law, should it pass the Senate. I won't be a slave of government willingly.
Being worried about these things does no good at all.
With that vote our present-day liberals have shown their true colors, vindicating their critics who charge them with the desire to enact despotism and to be subversive of Americanism. They show themselves to be willfully ignorant of the role government must play as a servant, not a master, of the People, that is if America is to remain America.
We have to see these people for who they really are. We knew when they were elected, some of us (not enough then, but some of us knew), anyway, that their ideology is based on hatred of themselves and their county, and naturally their fellow countrymen. We knew we were in for a long battle, a death match that requires conservation of energy and dynamic resistance, along with wakeful awareness throughout this Congress.
And last night's tragedy displayed their contempt, for themselves and their constituents, as surely as if they had planned and carried out an attack on Pearl Harbor.
Ireland and Israel both have mandatory health insurance. So there’s only Mexico left.
