It would be appropriate to let him know how much we appreciate his vote. Not for the value of the vote, but because he gave the Dhims cover to say that it was "bipartisan."

Not only that, but now the head Rats will boast how this is a "BIPARTISAN BILL". What's sad about that is, there are still a lot of stupid morons in the electorate that will be kumbaya-ing over that one...

Pelosi et al were already doing that last night just after the bill passed, albeit with smirks on their faces (anyone with a brain knows it obviously isn't a "bipartisan bill"). And yes, many morons in the electorate will buy it.

What did Cao get? [Andy McCarthy]

Michelle Malkin answers the question Rich posed in the FPOD. Evidently, the congressman’s about as cheap a date as they come:

Cao wrote he obtained commitment from President Obama that he would work together to address the health care issues of Louisiana, including the FMAP crisis and community disaster loan forgiveness, as well as issues related to Charity and Methodist Hospitals. “I call on all my constituents to support me as I work with him on these issues.”

Pretty pathetic.

He voted the wishes of his constituents, not his party leaaders. Have we not been b*tching since last summer about the Congressmen who don’t vote the way their constituents want as opposed to the Dem leadership ?

His vote was un-American....and.... he voted for an unconstituional mandate that all Americans must carry health insurance or face fines/jail time.

If his constituents wanted him to vote that all red-heads get kicked out of the country, would that be explainable as standing up for his constituents? Of course not.

All 220 of the rep's that voted for this bill should face pain in 2010 for their choice for the rest of us. He can face a bit of backlash from Repub. leadership now for his choice. The local GOP should find a better candidate in the upcoming primary. Most likely no GOP candidate will win this district. But he sold out his vote to keep his job. He should learn the price was too high to get any help from the GOP.

It’s very, very sad. I realize that Cao is in a ‘Rat bastion and that we need to cut him some slack. This, however, went too far.

I don’t rule out his being reelected. One should remember Joe Orton, Democrat of Utah, who represented a super-Republican district for a few terms.

Not a thing wrong with this guy.

Here’s why:

http://innovation.cq.com/atlas/district_08

Focus in on Louisiana 2nd. Obama won it.

75-23.

How could you expect this Congressman to take a knife and backstab his own district by voting any other way? The GOP is lucky to have his vote for Speaker. Very lucky.

When I was watching the abortion vote this Cao was the only Republican who voted with the Dems too.

This was the first time I heard his name so really Cao voted twice with the Dems.

Sorry, you’re wrong there. Cao did vote yea on the abortion amendment.

One R voted ‘present,’ Shaddeg, who has promised to fight to repeal this bill in its entirety.

Actually the official Republican nominee opposed the public option loud and clear during the campaign.

Greg, considering everything we know about Scozzy and her uber-liberalism, you really should know better to accept anything she said during the campaign. Based on her record, she votes liberal whenever the rubber meets the road.

So stop embarrassing yourself with your outlandish claims that it's all Sarah Palin's fault because Pelosi managed to ram the health care "reform" bill through last night.

No, they do not understand the basic tenets of how government works. This thread, unfortunately, is very enlightening. I now understand all the ridiculous posts I’ve been reading the last few weeks that have been boggling my mind. I now realize that we will never achieve and retain a majority for any length of time. We are screwed when even Freepers, that I mistakenly thought were more politically savvy than others, don’t “get it”. I understand their anger, but they’re focusing on the battle, not the war.

I’d agree with you except for two points. The democrat will not give us a majority that would have prevented this bill from ever making it to the floor and your democrat voted for this bill.
