NY-23: Rudy Giuliani Robocalls for Hoffman

WATERTOWN, N.Y. — On a Sunday evening conference call with conservative bloggers — where he was joined by former Dede Scozzafava campaign manager Matt Burns — Rob Ryan, spokesman for NY-23 Conservative Party candidate Doug Hoffman, said that former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani had recorded a robocall for the campaign. That makes Giuliani one of the small number of Hoffman endorsers to put deeds behind his words, joining former House Majority Leader Dick Armey and former New York Gov. George Pataki, who’d appeared in the district, as well as Fred Thompson, who is speaking at the campaign’s last big rally in Watertown tomorrow.

Issa ponied up $5,000, and so did Palin’s PAC. That counts as more than words, too.

I believe that Rudy’s endorsement was planned BEFORE she dropped out. I recall reading last week that it would be a one-two punch with Patiki during the week and Rudy following up over the weekend. I think Rudy was onboard last week and was held back and in reserve to counter anything she might do, assuming she stayed in the race. With her endorsement of Owens, this accomplishes the same thing.

Good to see Matt Burns (ScuffyFava's Campaign Manager) assisting. I'm sure he has some good inside info to assist in the last few days.

Sans the fact that he is trying to save his own a$$, he could be of some real help with internals and demographics of her voter targets.

Good for all involved to help elect Doug Hoffman. I think a lot of Freepers helped with our “little guy” donations of $5, $10 and $20.

Does anyone really know how conservative Hoffman is - I mean, "conservative" by New York standards, or just Conservative?

Rudy Guiliani and Sarah Palin are friends, so maybe she discussed him endorsing Hoffman. Guiliani seems like a good guy. I am glad he endorsed Hoffman. I think Hoffman has this in the bag but we will see

Here a link that covers alot of the bases.
http://www.doughoffmanforcongress.com/issues.html
Where do you stand on the issue of Roe vs. Wade? I am pro-life, period. Where do you stand on the issue of Same Sex Marriage? I was brought up to believe marriage is between a man and a woman. That's how I feel. I don't want to persecute anyone but that's what I believe. Marriage ought to stay marriage. Period." Dede Scozzafava: In Albany Assemblywoman Scozzafava voted for gay-marriage twice. Bill #'s A 8590 (6-19-07) and A 7732 (5-12-09). Where do you stand on the Second Amendment? As an NRA member, Doug believes the Second Amendment is far more vital to our nation than just protecting the recreational activities of hunters and target shooters. The Founding Fathers thought these right’s so vital to a free country that they specifically created the Bill of Rights. They did not want to leave any doubt as to what tools must be available to the lone citizen.

Dan Riehl is now reporting that Scozzafava is making robocalls for Owens:

You are correct and the robocall was recorded before she dropped out. It was all timed.

Did you see they moved Rudy for the World Series game — 1st one as Michelle obama wanted to go to the game and the WH didn’t want her sitting next to Rudy. Then she didn’t show for the game and he got his seats back. Can we blame michelle for their first loss? I am not even a Yankees fan but moving a season ticket holder for Michelle obama does make you wonder if it created bad karma! :)

Thanks. Good info.

I get so tired of hearing about New York “conservatives” that are for socialism, abortion and fake marriage (i.e. Rudy Giuliani.)
